long tube headers; where can I buy them?

I want a set of long tube headers but have no idea where i can buy them from. does anybody know any shops or companies that make and sell these for the z and g?

(sorry for those of you who are g35driver and my350z forums browsers. i posted in both threads to get the most info).

any help pointing me in the right direction would be awesome.

thanks for your time,

charles

You'll have to custom make long tube headers for the Z/G. Crawford on the other hand, makes a nice "medium length" tube header for about $1200 bucks.

dang. long tubes make much more sense to use for my application. i dont want shorty headers.

i know megan racing makes a long tube header for the G but i question the build quality of their work. thoughts...?

Maybe a local header shop could fab something up for you? Won't be cheap though...

Crawfords are probably the best pre-fabbed units being that they're medium length and good quality.

I agree, get some customs made. I'm pretty sure speed force racing isn't to far from you.

i saw that someone on the boards was selling long tubes, but they looked exactly like the ebay long tubes with a higher price tag. i maaaay try ebay long tubes since thats the only place that makes them. but im worried about them cracking on me. the opposing side of this is that i will do the install myself and i also know a welder that could just weld them back together if they crack. idk. not sure what to do. thoughts on that idea....?

if you know a weldor, buy a quality set of headers and cut em' up.make your own long tubes to spec without having to build the whole header(save time and money).

if i was going to have my own long tubes made i would start from scratch. use better metals, and a burns collector. i dont think its worth the money to buy a header, cut it, and then go through the head ache of fitting and blah blah. i may just got ebay and im sure those will add a great amount of power. and lower my boost which is ultimately the goal.

buy the ebay ones and have all the welds rewelded before install with a good stainless steal wire, the problem with ebay exhausts are the tubing is stainless steal and good quality its just when you weld the flanges and etc with a shitty weld wire thats what corroeds(spelling) and starts to crack.

+1

Header installation is such a b!tch on the Z/G~ Yeah, you definitely don't want to have to pull those suckers back out if they crack. I have DC Sport headers which have held up to 20K miles flawlessly so far. It would totally suck if I had to pull those out due to cracks...

Speaking of having to pull the headers back out: You might want to keep in mind that you may not be able to pass inspection with long tube headers as you cannot have cats with those. At least with shorties or mid-length headers you can always slap the cats back on just to pass inspection...

thanks for the replies. i found some ebay longtubes for 226 brand new. going to have the welds welded again so they are stronger and maybe weld a few supports in there too. hopefully that wont fail on me. i know i wont be able to pass smog with them, but i have access to a lift and shop so im not worried about install/removal.

Not sure if it is what you want but I thought I'd put it out there anyways: I have some Nismo SS headers for sale.

supports would be an added bonus and i was thinking last night, maybe a ground on each one two that would cut down on the rust a good bit
