Default Fitting HR Nismo intakes on 370Z.

As many of you saw in our Z1 370Z thread we adapted a set of the HR Nismo high flow intakes to our 370Z. While it was not a direct bolt on affair it was pretty simple and required that the heat shields be left off of the filters. The problem is that the car lost power with just the intakes installed. We believe that possibly the piping is too small and restrictive to be truly beneficial. We're in development on a larger tube intake system of our own and are also awaiting other options from Nismo and aftermarket companies.

But just in case any of you don't want to wait, want the open intake sound, and don't mind losing 2-3 HP the Nismo HR intake can be modified to work.

Here we go....

My guess is the Nismo intakes are 2.5" maybe 2.75" piping whereas a 3" is probably needed on the VVEL motors given the flow the new motor is capable of ....and then possible heat soak issues

That and this product was not designed for this application so you cant fault the product
