Default New Kinetix Velocity Manifold

I need to find more info on this manifold since it is so new and kinetix has quoted me 30.5 hp gains!! Pretty UNBELIEVABLE if you ask me..... so I talked to kinetix and asked them what kind of testing they have done to see these gains and if they had used a stock Z. I also inquired about the possible gains, or losses of a moded 350z with higher flowing exhaust etc. They explained to me this manifold is far better than the SSV that was previously a disaster for anyone without the correct mods to accomidate such air flow. Can anyone tell me what this manifold is all about and what kind of modifications I would HAVE to have in order to get the best result? Much appreciated.

Surprised that Kinetix has any 370Z results this soon.

Here's what kinetix claims to have changed:
The SSV had some consistency problems, just as you mentioned. This was actually due to some unpredictable spikes in the A/F curve. We tuned it very well, however our test car could be vastly different from other heavily modded cars out there. So while the old SSV made great power on our car, and many others, some people had negative results.

To solve this problem we increased the overall flow of the manifold considerably. We made runners shorter (higher flow) and the plenum chamber larger (higher and more equal flow) We also created the tapered velocity plenum to more evenly distribute power between cylinders. The difference is seen in more power, but at higher rpms. The old SSV made good power, especially in the mid range, while this manifold does not really gain much in the midrange. However, it gives great gains up top !! which will also help the more you mod your car.

The new Velocity manifold has been out for about 2-3 months and have been getting great response from tuners.

why is this posted in the 370Z section? this is an intake manifold for the Vq35DE, not the VQ37VHR.

if the claim is true, it'll be a bargain!! Cost only half compared to Cosworth, but double the gains!!

Meh... I unfortunately had the original SSV and I'm not willing to make the same mistake twice. I'm waiting for phunk's new CJM plenum.

The tapered design towards the front runners should've been in the first design. I don't know what they were thinking. What I find a bit odd is no loss in the low end or midrange with a shorter runner design. And how much you wanna make a bet they did not flow test individual cylinder air flow. Not exactly the same level of R&D as Cosworth, eh?
