well, I have these filters on my Injen dual CAI
![]() but they're a bit long and stick out in the radiator opening area of the bumper causing them to get dirty fairly fast and I fear dirt might be forced through the filter? W/E, I'm thinking of replacing them with these: ![]() you guys think the Spectre filter would have a negative performance impact due to size/material? |

are those the filters that came with the intake? How much is it sticking out? are you sure the pipes are pushed in all the way?

These are the filters that came with the kit and yes, the pipes are pushed all the way in and last time I cleaned my airfilters I also tried moving the pipes around to get the filters as high up as I can. They don't stick out an insane amount but I am wondering if those filters I showed would alter performance negatively. Here's a night time shot of the filters sticking out:

I'd leave the K&N filters on. Just man-up and clean them a bit more often, its one of the realities of owning an aftermarket intake designed to give you added performance. Flow/design has been fully tested on that system with the K&Ns, and K&Ns are known to be excellent quality filters. (fwiw i have the nearly identical stillen g3 setup)

Any cone filter will work. Just match the outer diameter of the tube.

I would speculate and say that you wont lose HP because those filters are shorter and probably has a bit more air inlet. But I would stick with the Injen. They were engineered with them.
