Question TP rattling

I have been researching for about 2 hours now and I can't seem to find a fix for the rattling on decel/ low rpm from the test pipes. Every video I have watched on YouTube seems to have that same damn rattle as well. Some people say the pipes are rubbing against the heat shields, others say it's normal VQ firing order that causes it, and some say it's because the flex pipe is broken. I'm trying to keep my stock catback for now and just replace the cats with TP's but if it's going to rattle I don't see the point. Yes I know there are gains to be made by this mod but I don't think I could live with the rattle. Someone please let me know what's up.

it really depends on how close it is to that shield, my ART pipes were dang near touching it... i had to get a pry bar in there and bend it some

So what your telling me is that the reason the tp rattle is based on whether or not they touch the heat shields? Because if that's the issue I will just get a cut off wheel and cut that *****.

that is what is usually rattling, not all the time. no need to cut it off, couple of bolts and it comes off

So why don't people fix this when they install TP's. Why would you want it to rattle? Have you always had the ART pipes, or have you tested a few others before that? I was looking at the berk and turboxs pipes

i had high flow cats before the ART, they were resting on the shield. i left mine there because i can deal with the minimal rattle versus heating up the cabin and floor board

Well without the cats there I'm guessing the exhaust gases are not heating the pipe as much leading to it being acceptable for the shields to be removed right?

wrong, it actually gets hotter. the stock cats already have their own heat shield, when you get rid of those that area gets hotter. when stopped i can feel the heat come up the side of the door. coming right off the header it is going to be hot as hell no matter what you have

they have stick on stuff, but you would have to clean the crap out of that area to make sure it sticks

but i am not sure how well that will work honestly... if you were to see your heat shield there now, it is raised off the body some so there is a gap, so the metal deflects the heat and the space between it and the underbody helps keep the underneath cooler, make sense? i mean you can always try it and worst case you put the shields back on

So I have the berk TP's installed and they do not touch any heat shields at all, not even close. They rattle like crazy at 2500rpms and on decel. I don't understand what's going on. All the bolts are tight, the are bolted to the trans mount like the stock cats.
