Today I had my ART pipes installed and was very excited. It sounds freakin amazing! But, I've lost a lot of power... I have a nismo s tune exhaust, 5/16" motordyne plenum spacer, mrev 2, nismo intake, and the test pipes now. Before I put the test pipes on the car pulled like a freight train, as soon as it hit 4k rpm I would be glued to my seat. I thought the test pipes were going to make it even faster, but now the best it does is like a tiny little push back in the seat, my old eclipse pushed me back harder than this.
Could there be an exhaust leak? It was done professional so idk how possible that is. Or do I just really need a tune? Ive been trying to get a tune but its a month and a half til they have an opening If the tune will help, will it just restore it to how fast it was before, or would it make it faster? Im a little disappointed...nothing against the ART pipes (the mechanic said they were the best aftermarket pipes he's seen) they sound amazing, I just thought test pipes would give me a little more umpf

you prob lost some low end torque, it happens with test pipes. like others said you need to tune, especially with all the breathing mods you have

Thanks everyone thats what i figured...sucks that ill have to deal with it being slow for so long though. With the test pipes the rune will make it faster than it was before right?

you will gain some hp, but it will be more responsive. if i were you i wouldnt rag on it too much while you are lean

Isn't there a way to have the ECU relearn after installing cat replacements? Like "leave the battery unplugged and dead for 24 hours" or something? aka redneck tune?

I have no idea but I remember someone talking about it..... idk....

yes, or do the pedal dance.... but he will still be lean, the ecu can only correct so much

What? ^^ I wasn't baiting you. I legit remember a buddy of mine talking about how the ECU "relearns" but a tune is the best bet.

When I had my test pipes installed earlier this year I immediately noticed a loss of torque. Sadly I've gotten used to it, but I will be getting a tune this month.

yes, if you leave the negative terminal off it resets the ecu, and after driving a while it will do minor adjustments

Doesn't really fix the rpm. He was low before he installed ART pipe.

Resetting the ecu was the first thing i did when i noticed the loss in power...it didnt make any npticeable difference though. So now im going to take it easy on the car until i can get it into the shop. I kinda feel like im driving a ricer...it gets louder when i give it gas but not faster

Do you have pipe and exhaust? In my subdivision I have to cruise because hitting the gas is LOUD!!!

I have the nismo s tune exhaust and art pipes. Its not like unbearably loud..but it can get pretty loud
