3 inch exhaust
Opinions on best 3 inch y pipe back exhaust system. What do you guys have? I'm currently running an agency power y pipe with stock exhaust and I hear no difference. I considered a cheaper Megan or rs system but they sound pretty close to stock on video. I'm not looking for anything to obnoxious but my choices seem limited for 3 inch

So, to answer your question, first need answer.... What performance gain are you expecting? Or..... just moar L-O-U-D?

Because my y pipe is 3 inch so why would I go smaller back from that. I'm not dumb enough to expect any performance gains from exhaust and no not super loud . I guess all I want is other peoples opinions on what they have not to get quized on what I have and why I chose that

Greddy, AAM and Motordyne (TDX 2) offer 3" systems in true dual (plus a few others I'm sure) but true duals will have you chuck the Y-pipe anyhow. Of those, TDX2 FTW. (Others I have no experience with but they're out there.)
One caution, be aware that low end response may suffer with dual 3" pipes. (Not going to get into that discussion here but look around, there's all kinds of info on running that size.) Also, beware of systems that use N1 type silencers.... pretty loud.
Single system, Tomei Expreme is 3". Lots of people like this one but it's pretty loud being based on a single N1 muffler.
Haven't even mentioned S-Tune due to availability (or lack thereof...) but honestly, that's the one to get. All my Z's (including Z34) had/have that system and it's the most honest sounding system, IMO. (Oh, and it's large diameter out of the collector but mid-sized piping to the rear muff.

OK, fair enough.... single or true dual system?

[QUOTE=Mitchbuck21;10798217]Yeah I definitely don't wanna toss the y that's for sure. If I can find a y pipe back 3 inch with dual tip s in the back that doesn't sound ridiculous I'd be happy. That why I mentioned Megan I know it's not the most expensive but I'm not trying spend too much on exhaust I'd rather put the money in places I'll actually gain power. So if it's a single 3 inch pipe from the y I should be about the same as I am now on low end power I'd think. Considering the Megan one is the same as the stock design hopefully just a bit louder or would it hurt anything to get the invidia n1 at 2.5 when my outlet is 3? Abrupt change in size

Really isn't going to "hurt" anything as most performance systems have a 3" exit at the Y-pipe-to-mid-pipe junction and tapering to a 2.5 pipe. Only issue I could foresee would be the exact fitment at the junction but a minor one.
The other thing is that when you buy a system, they typically include the Y-pipe so if you're looking at "aft-of-Y-pipe" systems, you're kind of limited. Again, I can't testify to any of those but as mentioned, lots of people swear by the Tomei and the Invidia N1 singles, which come aft of the Y-pipe only I think.
But then, another thought.... why not get the Agency Power exhaust that runs aft of the Y-pipe? Probably easy install and a good fit....

Well, yeah this is old. But I’d like to add my experience with this OBX Forza catback I’ve had for months. Was cheap on eBay at less then 400. Has decent size rear dual outlets muffler & fat resonator on stainless 3in with smooth bends. Very quiet around town, but when you floor it sounds more violent then stock. Performs better in the top end then 2.5, & mines tachs at 7k. Also combined with higher flowing y pipe made like the hr design, acceleration is better the factory tubing was.
Previous owner hacked off the mufflers for straight pipe stock tubes. It was loud & slow. I fixed it, affordably
