anyone able to translate a few things into Kanji for me?
I want to put a few things on each arm.
Left Arm:
Honor
Courage
Commitment
Right Arm:
Family
Love
Loyalty
Lets see what you guys come up with.
I am waiting for my wifes uncle to get back in touch with us. He is a Japanese History Professor, but we haven't been able to get a hold of him yet.

There are many Kanji for the same words, each carrying slightly different meaning depending on context. Kanji really doesnt work by itself and requires context.
Really none of these words work outside a sentence, and would just look odd to a Japanese. I did however give the best Kanji, that best gives the correct English meaning.
Direct translations dont work on any language that doesnt use the roman alphabet. Do not rely on the anything from a website, only use a Japanese native to make sure.
I'm sure your Japanese friend will have other advice, but I would think he see these as correct as it can be and still make sense in translation and to a native Japanese. I should mention I'm not Japanese, just a white kid from Texas, so do a bit of self checking.
Left Arm:
Honor ---- 容 -- really means "face", but it the closes to the english idea of honor you can get.
Courage---- 兵 -- really means "strong man; honor" it too is the closest to what we think courage to mean in english.
Commitment ---- 注力 (although 志操堅固 is likely to ideal meaning you want commitment to mean) This one really doesnt work too well by itself.
Right Arm:
Family ---- 豪族 (technically "powerful family") anything else, doesnt make sense without context, it too doesnt work too well by itself.
Love ---愛 (doesnt really make sense by itself, and really is just silly and properly gay if a Japanese is reading this on a men. )
Loyalty---- 忠勇 (really "loyalty and bravery, loyalty by itself really doesnt carry the meaning your after in Japanese)

I think there are better chracters to use. Coupled with another character, this means 'easy'.
Courage---- 兵 -- really means "strong man; honor" it too is the closest to what we think courage to mean in english.
This means soldier.
Commitment ---- 注力 This one really doesnt work too well by itself.
This means the ability to focus, which I suppose is somewhat similar.
Right Arm:
Family ---- 豪族 (technically "powerful family") anything else, doesnt make sense without context, it too doesnt work too well by itself.
This is probably more accurate.

Well it depends. Like 兵 does mean soldier if use in as a pronoun, but by itself it should be "man of courage"
Same goes for the others, it depends on context. But I'll admit I'm no expert on the subject.
