I don't know anything about differences between various brand name filters (Nissan, K&N, Mobil 1, Purolator, etc). Common sense leads me to believe that they all probably work fairly well...but I don't really know.
A major difference seems to be the cost of the filters. As I recall a Nissan filter is approx $5. and I'm shocked that someone would put a $25 filter in their car every 3000 miles.
Anyone know of any real-life functional difference between these filters, if one changes oil at the recommended intervals?

I use the pureone it's about 5 bucks also, I'm sure if you regularly do your oil change then any filter will probably work. You can see what they all look like inside
