i fixed the rattle myself, and i have a 800watt sub in the trunk. how i did it? some good old fashioned thick double sided tape. the tsb says to use "clothe tape" which can be purchased from www.performancenissanparts.com for oh.. $20 bucks a roll.... i didn't want to pay that so I just used some double sided tape, it works pretty dam well. how do you use the double sided tape? well just find the tsb for the rearview mirror rattle and instead of using the cloth tape, use the double sided tape.
My interior rear-view mirror also had a buzzzzy rattle which would stop if you touched the outside case of the mirror. I took it to the dealer, they drove it around the block and replaced the entire mirror assembly --- no charge----. The only problem I had was that the new mirror was not programmed with my garage door opener code and I ended up almost having to break into my own house. If you have a garage doop opener, take a spare remote with you when you pick up the car. Good Luck
I am having the same buzzing sound. Its driving me batty! My car sounds like a hunk of junk with that annoying buzz from the mirror. You guys that have that TSB, I cant find it, maybe I should do it myself. Where have you guys placed this tape, maybe if you have some pics, that wuold be awesome. I am sure that this thread is going to gather some steam, I am sure there are a few of us with this same sound. Thanks.

yeah. where am i supposed to put the tape at? pics please.
AFAIK the TSB is for rattles in the wiring harness above the mirror and not the mirror itself. I had that TSB done and it didnt make a bit of a difference. I have not seen any TSB's for the mirror itself. Some people have gotten the mirror replaced, but, same problem crops up again. Your best bet, if the mirror is the problem, is to follow suggestions here on the board.
my mirror rattles at the plug in the back of it. Not the wire cover up the windshield (which the TSB is for).
My original mirror was replaced about 2 years ago.. this one was fine till I got my exhaust and the extra rumble and it rattles all the time now. simply touching the plug on the rear of it makes it go away
i've tried putting in some foam inside the mirror assembly, and the buzzing is now gone.
just open up the mirror housing, put some foam between the mirror and the rear housing.
you WILL scratch the housing when opening, so start opening from the top part of the mirror so you can't see the scratch.
and removing the plastic part that covers the wire helps too.
now that i have high powered subs in the car, slight rattle comes out from the button part of the mirror, but that is barely audible. at least the buzzing is gone!!
I like sharingan625s answer... I opened up the cover a few months ago and put a few pieces of felt (from the local craft shop) on the casing where it snaps together... It made the fitment tight but stopped the buzzing most of the time... I think adding the foam inside is a better idea...
Note, as toledo pointed out: the TSB for the is for the wire harness... that is a different deal...
