I want to buy a cheaper torque wrench, like maybe $30. What specs do i need as far as range of ft.lb, and whatever else there is. ive never owneds one. Its basically just for wheel removal.
Get one that goes up to 150 ft-lbs, and you should be set. Remember though, you get what you pay for. Some companies offer free calibration for life, might be worth the look.
mario... I hate to be the one to tell you, but this is definitely a case of "you get what you pay for".
Don't scrimp on a torque wrench... it is one of the most important tools an automotive enthusiast owns. A socket is a socket... craftsman, mac, ridgid... whatever... some are more durable than other, but ultimately, its easy to tell if it is not performing its funtion. With a torque wrench, tho, that area becomes very gray.
It's just me, but a torque wrench that only costs $30 would make me go
I'd spend a little more and get a good one (that you can rent out to your friends!) BTW, last time I was in Sears shopping for tools, they had a nice Craftsman one on sale for $70.
