Default It's possessed!!!!

It really is. I finally had nice enough weather to attempt the reset and low and behold the problem has disappeared... The window works fine the day I go to fix it. The car is laughing at me. thanks for all the insight guys. I'm sure I'll need it eventually. Gettin' hard to resist that 370 though... Dave

Replaced the drivers side window motor from the write-up. I only wish the write-up was a litte more detailed hah

Thanks so much for posting this, you really didn't miss a single thing. Excellent post.

Thanks again!

Does anybody know if the G35's (specifically, the coupe's) window motor is the same as the 350Z's?

Don't tell me to clean because I've done that more times than I can count and it just makes it worse now. I'm getting sick and tired of kicking my damn door to get the window to close up all the way. One of these days, I'm gonna break something.

i was looking for prices for 2 new window motors a few minutes ago. i've been having to hit my driver side door panel for the last 2 months to get the window to roll up and down. just last week my passenger side started acting up. im looking at around $300 with some core exchange bs? thats crazy.

i swear its as if my z had a self destruct clock on it that was set to go off as soon as it left the dealership and whatever was left of it to go at around the 5 year mark.

does anyone have any idea on how long this fix would last? as much as i want to save have to dump another penny into this car, i dont want to have to have the problem pop up again in a few months. im getting too lazy for this stuff.

Val thanks for this write up man! Used it to replace my driver side window motor with a new one I picked up from Forged Performance. Everything was a smooth walk through with these instructions.

Agree. Just replace it from the get-go. The cleaning is a temp fix, which I found out myself. Since I've replaced the motor, I haven't had any problems at all...

Not sure if it's the same Chris. Perhaps you could get the part #'s cross referenced at the Nissan dealership?

You can pick up a re-built motor at Autozone or Advance autoparts for about $125.00 w/core exchange. That's where I got mine. Mine has been running strong every since...

Thanks for the write up. I will be doing this next week. Sorry but Nissan sucks. We shouldn't have these types of issues. They should be offering to fix such problems free of charge to all Z owners especially because this problem is so common.

I had the window coming down half way with the auto-up problem, and somehow the driver side door belt molding (one on the outside) broke so I decided to tackle it myself.

If it wasn't for this thread though, I might have been too scared to try hahaha;;

Thankfully I didn't have to go all the way to the window motor. I did the window motor reset procedure and now everything works perfectly! I replaced the belt molding no problem too.

Although...I'm the third owner of my 03' Z and found out two push pins were broken already after pulling the door finisher out -.-;
whoever worked on it must have never did the window motor reset procedure and broke two push pins while doing it...

But decided finding the broken push pin pieces inside the car for another day. I was losing daylight so...
Next weekend when I have abundant daylight, I'm gonna open it up and try to find those push pin pieces

...anyways what I'm trying to say is THANK YOU SO MUCH OP! hahaha.
Really informative thread. Pictures helped me big time to not break any of the push pins by myself .
