I finally got off my lazy *** to get the new windor motor installed.
So I want to say THANKS A BUNCH to Vo7848 because without his DIY, my job would have been so much longer and more painful.

So I give him the credit that he totally deserves to have!

THANK YOU once again, Vo7848!!!

Yes, the initial cleaning lasted 2 months, then it failed again. I ended up replacing the motor with the refurbished one from Advanced Autoparts. It's been several months now and I've had no problems...

I assume this DIY will hold true for the driver side door as well? Minus the screws for the " oh Sh*t Handle" ?

Yesterday i had used in good condition motor and my old used motor.Cleaning won't help much because the two clipers(closing in) which holds the internal spining part are geting thin by using it.Then internal thing is not touching to second part and window is not working even if it is clean

Great post, vo. Very easy to follow. Did my driver's side window today so I'll see how long it lasts. BTW, one of the brushes was stuck in the sleeve. I sprayed the contact cleaner in from the back side by sticking the straw in between the black plastic casing that holds the brushes and the white plastic inner liner. That got the brush unstuck. I owe you a beer or ten.

Update 3/2011: Still working after more than two years. No problems.

Just an FYI: I went to order a window motor at Advanced Autoparts, the same motor everyone else has. If you have the free AutoZone rewards card, and if you let them cut it up, you get 20% off of your order. Thinking about having the wife or someone sign up for it and then get the motor for around $100 with the core exchange, save about $50.

I just completed the install. Only hard part was getting the metal square thing (lol lack of name) to go in space for it. So I tooke the spindle out and moved it to where it mated up then attached it to the regulator. I then used a hair pin thing to hold the brush in and pushed the spindle all the way in. Works like a charm and only costs 144.95..autozone

Since the motor has not been installed, I wouldn't see why not. A little cleaning wouldn't hurt...

Default 06???

Awesome, awesome post!!! Stupid question, but the reset procedure here is the same for my '06, correct? I have the problem where I close the drivers door when the window is closed it goes down halfway. No problems otherwise with the operation. The dealer has told me three different things now, but always failed to mention the internal reset switch... Thanks again! Dave

I would assume yes. The internal works of the door should not have changed. I'm not 100% sure, but about 99% sure. Give it a shot. The reset procedure is easy as pie. F the dealer. Those guys are crooks and always do shotty work from my experience.

Keep us posted Dave...

It's not a window motor failure. It has to do with something else. I remember reading about it somewhere. I can not remember where though. Somewhere in this section. Something about a keyfob reset of something like that...
