Default sponge clutch?

Hi guys im having an interesting issue with my z. 2003 34k miles on it, anyways i know the car had its tranny replaced in 2005. The car does not grind, sometimes it very notchy primarily after its been on for a while but for the first 5 minutes the car shifts and acts fine minus 1st to second which sometimes feels like it gets stuck in first so i usually shift through all gears before i start going .The clutch gets a real spongy feeling like its not holding the power or weak when i push it and shift. The gear notchy doesnt happen till a few minutes later. Anyone know where i should start looking? I just bought some Sythn tranny fluid but i dont want to put it in yet incase i should do something else first. Thanks Nick

I would say take it to the dealer have them check it. Once they charge you way to much to fix (might still cost around 100 bucks for diagnostic), take your car to a different "trusted" shop and tell them what needs to be done. If you do have a burt clutch make sure you take it back to the shop after 3 months, as your clutch will need more adjusting. I've heard Z owners that say theirs felt spongy because of the stock rubber clutch line. When its hot it expands and loses pressure. I would suggest to get one after you diagnose the problem because it does give you a stronger clutch throw.

Just my 2 cents.
