any GL-5 OEM or equivalent would work. 75W-85 or 75W-90 would work.

Are you asking about the viscous fluid in the LSD? If that's the case I'd do a little more searching first. I'm pretty certain that VLSD's contain a special silicone fluid and not just GL-5 gear oil. I'm not sure these units are end-user serviceable.

according to the service manual, it's a GL-5 rated gear oil (with mentioned viscosity). it's nothing special.

My bad, I was under the impression there was a different fluid housed inside the LSD

yea it should be mentioned that the service manual calls out GL-5 for the differential and GL-4 for the transmission.

the additive(s) on the GL-5 is apparently harmful to synchros. or so i've read. lol.
