Searched for this and all i could find was "take it to the dealership" so i called the dealership and they said "See if you can reset it on your own first"... so here's me asking for help:

You know those indentions lining the side of highways designed to wake up via a loud humming noise if you were to run over them? Well, I hit one this morning pretty hard on the way to work...

Half way down the highway, the TPMS error light came on (icon on dash flashes for a solid 1 minute then goes to solid) and it will no longer read the tire pressure for only that tire that hit. I got the tire pressue checked manually just in case... everything's fine.

So, Anyone know how to reset the TPMS to get that annoying light to turn off??! cannot find it in the users manual

The answer is, no. The TPMS system must be recalibrated by the dealership. Last I heard, it was $85 for the procedure...

The 350z must be reset with a TPMS activation tool its easy to do if ya have the tool takes only a minute. The lite will not go out just by adding air like some other cars do.

Set pressure to 35psi have the key set to the on postion with the engine off. Point the tool by the valve stem sidewall press activation starting at LF, then onto RF, RR, LR then the signal lights will blink twice then its all good. I'll look at my book to see if this procedure is right to be 100% sure its been awhile. 04-07 models Transmitter Wake Up Operation.

Yeah, I've looked into the tool -- and Nissan uses one of the more expensive ones out there. $2500!!???!!!

i recently reset it..

due to a bad tire shop.

it was only $50 bucks

the tire shop had some reset tool.. but couldnt reset them for the life of it! lol

I usually add air to the tire(s) to see if that fixes the problem before I talk to local stealership.

Generic activation tools only turn on and reset a sensor. They do nothing to the cars ECU and nothing to affect which sensors it sees or recognizes. That's why you have to take it to a dealer or somebody that has Consult II (a $5K system from what I understand).
