hey guys, I went to the stealership for an oil change and they told me I needed my engine belt replaced. The guy said 130 and I told him ill think about it. is that a good price?
also he said to replace the rotors would be 130 a rotor for oem ones . I made the comment to him that I can get 4 stoptech rotors for about 250 and he said stoptech wasn't good enough like the oem ones. should I go with stoptech?
he also said just to check the brakes and rotos would be 109 what a rip off. please any suggestions and comments welcomed
Dont go to a dealership for anything, unless it's under warranty. Try and find a local mechanic/shop and see if they know the Z really well, then get to know them really well for future issues.
Changing the oil and belts was the first maintenance I did on my 350z. I bought the "premium" Goodyear Gatorback belts and the whole job cost me $35 and about 10 minutes.
$130 for belt replacement is not a terrible price for a dealer... You would get a better price from a independent repair facility no doubt just make sure they are ASE certified and you will be OK. Stoptech > than OEM rotors.

I changed my belts. Only took me about 15 minutes tops.
+1. This was my first work on any car other than changing flats. Took me 45 minutes, most of which was getting the car up on the jack stands with the OEM scissor jack. I was quoted $150 at the stealership for new belts and installation.
