Oil Pressure Running High
I'm real good about monitoring my gauges and noticed yesterday that my OEM oil pressure gauge was maxed out at 120psi until I got halfway to work and then settled down to ~90psi (it's normally around 60 when driving without load).
NEVER seen the gauge stay that high for that long unless I was in boost......scared me a little.
Anyone know what I could look for that might cause my pressure to run so high?
Thanks!

So the pressure is actually normal but the sending unit is sending incorrect readings to my gauge? Don't want an oil related failure......wondering what the chances are that it isn't safe to drive?
My local dealership wants .6/hour to diagnose or $178 to just replace the sending unit. They charge $89 for the unit itself.
Seems like a relatively inexpensive fix as long as my engine doesn't seize up

old thread but what was the fix? increase in pressure could mean you have restriction in your oil system too.

There have been a number of threads about defective oil pressure sending units, but I've never seen even one about blocked oil passages causing high pressure readings.
In order for that to happen, something would have to sneak past the filter. That would require that the filter be blocked with something like sludge or debris to the point the filter went into bypass mode or the element collapsed. That would only happen with incredibly poor maintenance or catastrophic internal engine failure, both of which are very rare in Zs.

Winchman seems to have been correct in his diagnosis.
I took it to the dealer and they replaced the oil pressure sending unit under my extended Gold Care warranty. Had to pay a $50 deductible (plus what I paid for the warranty itself) but it seems to have fixed the problem.
I was worried that maybe one of my oil lines/channels was blocked with a metal chip from when additional oil lines where drilled for my SC install. Diagnosis would've been expensive!!
