Default Time to fix dent on my car

Hey everyone. I'm deciding to fix the dent on the rear end passenger side. It was from the last owner. I could not get it fixed earlier b/c I was really busy with school. Now I have more free time to fix this.
I went to the auto shop and they say the cost is around 900. I'm thinking if whether I should fix it in auto shop or buy new rear fender & rear bumper and paint it?

Unless you have connects at this shop, 900 seems pretty low. Be wary that they will actually do a good job. A small dent/scratch on the quarter panel that required painting the quarter panel ran me 1100.

Damn thats expensive. The auto I went to is a small family business. Heard that they did really good job for low price, so I might bring my Z there.

900 is a cheap price given what they are doing.

OMG - get rid of those taillights!!!!

Also, $900 is hella cheap to fix a bumper and this type of quarter panel damage. If you have any body work experience you'd know that fixing quarter panels can be an art - it's not like pulling a fender off, banging it out, doing to body work and painting. You've got to know what you're doing a little bit. Be careful with where you take your car, cheapest isn't always the best.

Edit: looking over the picture again... $900 might not be THAT far off. The bumper looks pretty good, just some light body work needed. Quarter panel might be a semi-easy fix... hard to tell with that picture though.

900 is cheap considering the damage on the quarter panel. also it seem that there is a hole in the rear bumper. i dont know if they are replacing or repairing the bumper. either way bring it to them to do it. gl

The shop has one review only and its good one. Other shops have like 3 or 4 reviews and some good some bad. I might look into the details what they will do to fix it.
The tail light is black Z LED. It looks nice in the dark though.

For sure. "Dent" is an understatement. Two body panels plus paint plus install for $900? No way. Quality work will cost you $2,000. BTW why is this not an insurance claim?

Tail lights are rice crap. Get rid of them before you do anything.

So we will start off light.

Here is my bumper that someone rubbed up against then drove off while it was parked on the street in front of my house.

That was $1000.
They had to replace the rear bumper & prep/paint the new one.

This is from when a Mazda3 hit me when they tried to blindly exit from an alleyway between 2 parked cars..... $4200 in damages, they had to replace the quarter panel, prep/paint then blend the door.

My bumper had less damage than yours and it was deemed unfixable by the insurance company, needing replaced. The quarter panel is around the same damage & mine was replaced.

I have a feeling that bodyshop is going to cause you more hassle than anything for a $900 bill, at first...

Same here. I had around 10 very small dents on my right rear quarter panel after hitting a tie strap on the road last year. It was also $1100 as they have to pull the dents then prep/paint the panel then blend the door.

EDIT: I bet the last owner went through this already & rather than pay for the proper job fixing it, bought a set of cheap brake lights off ebay(judging by that damage, it looks like the light was smashed) & sold the car.

900 to fix that?? Be sure to see some samples of their work, and also make sure they actually have a booth to do the painting.
