MOTUL in the Drivetrain!
I have a 07 350z Manual Trans w/ 93k miles and have had it filled with mobil 1, I recently have read that it is no good, and has caused notchy shiftings and ground gears.
Sorry for not searching harder, I just didn't find to much about running in high mileage motors.. I want to fill the transmission and rear end with Motul but not sure what oil weight I should use.
I have full bolt ons + Nitrous and I drive hard so just wondering what the best option would be in terms of Weight.
Many thanks!

I cant give you options though just my experience. Blew my tranny on a 05 (CD008) put in NEW CD009 trans and RPS clutch and flywheel and Nissan put whatever is OEM in. from that point I put over 70k miles of pure chit beaten out of it multiple drag/street(jk)/track races and on a daily basis drove it like a previous civic owner would.

yeah... if it is the mobile1 you got from an auto part store it is most likely GL-5 gear oil. Even though it says meets GL-4 standards, GL-5 contains an additive that eats away at yellow metals (brass, copper, bronze, gold?). You should only put GL4 in Nissan transmissions. GL5 is fine for the diff.
Personally I run Redline MT90 which is top notch stuff. Only second to motul but just as good.

i run the same redline and it was notchy immediately after the change..dunno, just my experience.. didnt like it at all.
So for my "new" cd009 i swapped in, i plan to run only Nissan OEM fluid.. i hear its just the best way to go for our trans in terms of feel and longevity.

Gear 300 rocks for the trans! Quiets the trans down A LOT to if you have a LW flywheel .

My tranny was sticking between 1-2 and 2-3. Replaced the tranny oil with Motul 75W80 and I can personally say it is the best 350z tranny oil available. My tranny is as smooth as silk in any weather

Going into gears are really hard now with the motul.. especially first and second lol.
I should try amsoil next time..
With the JWT clutch and flywheel installation, it's REALLY hard to press in the clutch pedal... I mean REALLy hard lol..scared to press in the pedal But there's like no chattering at idle though
