Sounds like medal on medal to me Look around, something is scraping something, I could be wrong but kinda sounds like that. Could be a bearing going out too.

If it were mine, and I couldn't identify where the sound comes from-
I would dismount the S belt and turn over accessories by hand. Listen and feel for binding or noise on each one, including idler/tensioner. Pretty easy and free.

With any luck, the prob is external. How many miles?

A little while back you were thinking of trading for your dad's gti, and now the mods are going south? I have never heard of stock pulleys going bad @ 38k...
Who did you get this from?

That's the weird part. It kinda just came out of nowhere when I started it up. It was running totally fine when I got it and for about 2 weeks. Just trying to get it fixed so I can drive it.

Did you try removing belts as I suggested?

You've got a Z with FI, Lambo doors @ 38k you were gonna trade for dad's GTI, and now
it is not drive-able? Is it leaking fluids, smoking from hood or exhaust?...overheating?

It's drivable just am worried that driving with it making that noise will damage it worse. I took off the procharger belt and it wasn't that. It has only gotten hot once but it didn't do anything. Just the temper gauge went up. And let it cool off and it drove perfectly fine since then. I literally was driving it that morning and it was drove good. Went to leave work and it started making that noise.
