Just wondering what coolant do you reccomend that I top up with? I was reading some responses on google, and some where saying to use nissan's brand and what not. Please let me know if I can just use any coolant or if it should be a specific one. Thank you very much.

RADIATOR COOLANT ANTI-FREEZE NISSAN BLUE 50/50

mixes with Green Coolant and is engineered to be better. No need to mix water. I would recommend this because it is OEM.

Definitely go with OEM Nissan coolant. The extra $5 - 10 is worth the peace of mind that you used a quality coolant. Make sure to dilute 50/50 with distilled water, and you're good to go. Buying pre-mixed is stupid in my opinion, since you're paying extra just for water. I just flushed my coolant this past weekend and I've had no issues. Link to the coolant here:

Take another look at the link. That's concentrated coolant that has to be diluted. I still fail to see what's stupid about spending 70 cents on a gallon of water and 5 seconds mixing it, rather than buying some cheap $10 coolant that apparently contains $5 worth of water...

maybe u should follow ur own link and take note that nismoshop and probable every other Nissan dealer sells Nissan premixed coolant. u feel more manly mixing coolant urself or something?

lifekenophobic & saywat? -- maybe you guys should both read again what's on the linked website. They sell both the 100% concentrated (needs dilution) and the 50/50 pre-mixed.

With that being said, I didn't know Nissan sold 2 versions and that concentrated is green while the pre-diluted is blue.


BTW, I've always used Prestone and diluted to 50/50 myself with no issues so far (9 yrs of ownership, lots of racing). I do the dilution myself because it saves me money while only spending a couple of extra minutes, literally.

Also, I've heard good things about the Redline Water Wetter, although I've never tried it myself.

3hree5ive0ero, I see that they sell both. I assumed it was undertood that I was referring to the green version, since I mentioned diluting it in my post. Not to mention it's the default option when you hit the page. I'm glad to know Prestone is working out for you. It'd be nice not to have to wait on shipping from The Nismo Shop, so I may look into that for the next flush. Just figured I'd go OEM to be on the safe side this time.

i too use prestone with no issues. cost $12 at walmart. Nissan concentrate cost bout $20 plus shipping and a lot more else where. so wat are u really saving?

Have you considered Engine Ice? It's spendy, but the reason I point it out is it is acceptable on many tracks. So you wouldn't have to switch between water/Water Wetter and anti-freeze.

I've been running it in my motorcycles for years, including my race bike; and can't say enough good about it. While it is more than water/Water Wetter, it does offer freeze protection, so it stays year round.

I use Valvoline Maxlife AF 50/50, diluted with distilled water to an acceptable freezing protection in my country.

I would also stay away from the premix stuff, this is not a standard engine that can do with some medium quality coolant imo.

I mix it myself with distilled water (as i mentioned) and therefore it is NOT a premix ready-to-go coolant.
IMO this premix stuff is not for a VQ engine.
