Default P1273 and P1283

Hey guys,

2005 Anniversary with 72000 miles. The car runs smooth, gas mileage seems typical and power is consistent.

So I've had the SES light on a for a little while now, and it's those pesky 1273 and 1283 codes. I have one of those WIFI diagnostic tools and app. My inspection is due by the end of this month I did see as a pending a code for timing advance, which is my tune most likely. Sometimes it appears in the scanner, sometimes it doesn't.

I replaced the two upstream o2 sensors, and man they were kind of a ***** to do when the car is only on floor jacks. Believe it or not, the freaking plastic clips holding the wiring and the connectors in place might have been more of a PITA than breaking the sensors free. I swear they design cars with no thoughts of future disassembling...

After replacing the o2 sensors I cleared the codes with the reader and took it for a drive. After 15 miles the SES light popped back on again. I'm at work now and haven't had a chance to check if its the same codes but I assume it is.

My mods:
Kinetix plenum
JWT popcharger
Berk high flow cats (~15K on them)
Borla TD catback
Osiris Tune (like ~2 years ago, was code free entire time until now, have 3 maps: stock, valet and tune)

What I've done so far and the SES light came back on:

Replaced both upstream o2 sensors with OEM style (Walker)
Re-tightened the JWT popcharger and stock tube, plenum bolts and checked hose clamps.
Visually checked vacuum lines(ones that i could see and reach)

What I've done just recently but haven't driven enough to test:
Replaced PCV valve
Disconnected battery overnight to clear the self-learning.

My questions:

In NJ they only test for emissions via OBDII and check for cats with cameras. Can I pass with these 2 codes since they are the UPSTREAM sensors (before the cats)? The downstream sensors are reading fine, meaning the cats are doing their job.

After I disconnect the battery overnight, do i need to reapply the tune map?

Before inspection, should I set the Stock map or the Tune map?

How many or which lines are all the vacuum lines to look for? There's hoses everywhere, some carry fluids, some carry air.

Should I try cleaning the MAF sensor with MAF cleaner?

Should I try fuel injector cleaner?

Could it be an exhaust leak where the HFC meets the exhaust manifold? (UGH)

Could it be an exhaust leak where the exhaust manifold meets the engine? (FML)

So far 120 miles after resetting the relearn, no SES light yet. Gonna run to inspection today. Car is running much smoother.

So for me, after replacing the o2 sensors, just erasing the code with the scanner was not good enough. Codes came back. Disconnecting the battery overnight (think you only need 30 minutes or so), seemed to work so far.

But what I still don't know for sure is, after disconnecting the battery, do i need to reapply my Tune Mapping?

You might as well grab yourself a PCV valve while you're at it. I read that they can affect the emissions also. I changed that as well. Very simple fix.

Arg.... after 200 miles the SES light came back, with only P1273 again. This time I cleaned the MAF sensor with CRC. I did however notice a little bit of blown out red gasket sealer near the back of my Kinetix manifold, near the throttle body. Could that throw these codes? I've had the manifold on for 5 years, this is the first time I've had any codes.

I snugged up the bolts on the manifold a little. With the Kinetix, its a kind of plastic, so you have to be very careful not to overtighten, or it will easily crack.
