NO SLIP OR VDC LIGHT. will paypal you money if you solve this...
2006 350z touring. when turning the ignition to ON and all the dummy lights pop up on the dash, the VDC off and SLIP light do not come on. When i start the car and push the VDC button no lights come up. After a little bit of driving my ABS and BRAKE light come on.
This was happening when i bought the car. I checked all fuses and the bosche VDC control box under the center console it is plugged in. Before i tear apart the dash to check and see if the gauge bulbs are burnt out (which i highly doubt they are)
Does anyone know of a way to permanently disable the VDC to a point where the dash light wont even work? I am pretty sure the previous owner did this and i want to fix.. thanks

It's likely less behind the cluster but check your fluid

its likely behind the cluster check the fluid? do you mean the abs area? And post #2 yes good point but on mine the light is never on and will not come on.
ALSO update while messing with my cars tpms sensor to reset (manually resetting your tpms) I was able to make the ABS/Brake so it never comes on again =) Also i did buy a brand new oem "VDC off" switch for my car and this did not help either.
Still have money ready to go to the person that solves my problem with no VDC light coming up =) (you might be surprised how much you get =p)

Go pull your abs fuse and see if the lights come on, its an odd situation, what modifications do you have on the car? Could the P.O. Have modified the ecu or used an ecu from a base model z to make it never work? Does the tire pressure system work and display as it should? Does your cruise control still work?

I would recommend having the ecu scanned for abs codes. Most will not trigger a MIL . Most of you local autoparts stores will NOT be able to read these. You can buy a scanner that can read them but are over 150$. May be worth just getting it read by a professional unless you have a friend that has an advance obdII reader. I am willing to bet there is a short in the abs system or ya sensor. Wish you much luck.

sadly i have experience with similar problems. i had the VDC OFF, SLIP, BRAKE and ABS light on all the time, got codes read by a professional, said it was a bad ABS pump since it did not responded when the computer used to read codes tried to turn on the pump. when changed the pump i still had the same problem with lights on. Took it to the diagnostic specialist, he found chewed wiring from rats, fixed it and problem solved. Now the thing that i notice from your description is that your lights wont turn on when you turn on the car (they should turn on regardless of working system or not) most likely they have eliminated this LED rather than them going actually bad(very unlikely for an LED to go bad). you said that now you have an ABS and BRAKE light on which tells me that you might have had all 4 lights on if those 2 were not eliminated by who knows who, i think some previous owner might be trying to hide something. Go get it checked by a code reader that reads ABS systems that should tell you what went bad in your car and if it tells you something like a bad speed sensor or other thing that you might change and doesn't fix it(like me) get your wiring checked for continuity by a specialist(saves you a headache).
