Generally speaking, it's because kids know nothing about machines in general. If it doesn't have a touch screen, they're not interested.

All internal combustion engines need 3 things... air, fuel and an ignition source. If it won't run, one of the 3 is missing. This basic concept leads to the correct diagnosis of about 90% of the cars I fix. the other 10% are almost always operator error.

Now, get off my lawn!

I have to admit that I actually enjoy lifting the Z up on to stands and crawling around underneath just to look at everything under the Z. I have spent a lot of time under there, mostly modding but also cleaning. Yes, I'm a little **** about a clean Z. I know an oil change is just around the corner for my Z, so I'm looking forward to checking on things to make sure it's all connected properly.

Now that cooler weather has settled around most of the country, the complaints about hard starting have started. This is generally followed by cooling issues as those overtaxed coolant systems begin to fail as the temperatures fall into the freezing zones. And don't forget that Thanksgiving is right around the corner and frozen turkeys begin sliding into poles and ditches. Don't drive like my brother!

This week seems to be "automatic transmission woes" week along with a crop of newbs double posting all over the place.

David, I resemble your remark.

"I am your brother." [ in ominous Vader tone ].

Ahem, I'm just kidding, people.... I don't have brothers; just three PITA sisters.

But my lights are working and the radio and fan all work just fine so my battery is strong, it just makes a clicking noise like an airsoft machine gun... Do you think I might need a new flux capacitor? Mine is only putting put 90.91 gigawatts...

That's what the 4 toothed guy at AutoZone with the computer said anyways.

LOL- if every Z owner here drove like Mic, we'd be in much better shape (knowing your background). And as long as we're going "Star Wars" references here, I'll take it a step further and suggest you master the Vulcan telepathic link technique and use it on some of the more clueless members out there. Just reach through that monitor and touch the temples of the ignorant...

..wait. That resulted in a sudden rush to buy up used sets of good quality alloy wheels on the market! OH WHAT HAVE WE DONE!?

Thanks- you win the "my350Z Star Trek Geek Prize of the day". But you'll need to mind meld with MicVelo to find out what you win...

Danger Danger Will Robinson!! [ In keeping with the "space" theme. ]

Mind melding with the mind of Mic can lead to you ending up in the gutter.

Just seen that one...what I don't get is. Even if someone can magically tell them what it is, its guaranteed 100% that they can't fix it themselves anyways. So what the hell is the point in even asking, take it to a shop if your a lazy ***

Get ready for a host of electrical problems/questions to pop up here. Colder weather brings out any weaknesses in the system and many new owners have no idea what the lifespan of their batteries are.
