Heavy rains, now electrical issues. Please help.
New to the site. I purchased my 2004 350Z about 4 months ago. 113,000 miles, pretty much stock.
This morning driving to work I had to go thru heavy, heavy rain. Some standing water on the road about 1"-2" deep. After work it didn't want to start. Cranked but wouldn't fire. Got it started after a couple tries. But now the tcs off light is on along with the tire slip light. Tach not working, temp gauge not working, cruise control not working. A/C blows hot but the light for the compressor is on.
I'm concerned that something got wet but not for sure where to start.
Any help is appreciated.

Welcome and sorry to hear of your problems. That much rain shouldn't cause any of the kind of problems you're experiencing. Nissan does a good job of insulating most electrical parts from flooding unless you're fording 1-2' of water. A good place to start is by using your on-board diagnostics- pull codes and check back. Take a close look at your fuse boxes (IPDM under the PS cowling and DS under the dash) to make sure they didn't get soaked somehow.

I will pull the codes, didn't have c/e light on though. I was thinking maybe a ground wire somewhere, but don't know where they're located. And didn't want to start pulling body panels haphazardly

Sounds like you might have some BCM (body control module) issues. Do a search on the factory service manual for the early Z33 for some troubleshooting charts, or take it to a local dealer to have a diagnostic done.

So I pulled the codes, came up p1124. Which is throttle control module. Then checked all fuses, all good. Noticed battery terminals pretty corroded, cleaned and put battery back in. Battery was almost dead, and it's 6 years old. Then I got a new battery, car fired right up and everything is normal. I know a weak battery can cause issues, but didn't think 1 would cause this many. Haven't driven it yet, hopefully it will do ok.

A weak battery can cause a multitude of issues. Combine that corroded terminals and you've probably got the cause right there. BTW- most batteries only last 5-6 years in these cars, so start the countdown again...

I went through water on the road, and next time I had no throttle response with max rpm about 2000, along with other weirdness. After it dried out a day or two, it was ok.

I've had a bad battery cause some problems, but not like this did. So far it's been fine. Maybe just a coincidence.
Meanwhile, had some exhaust work done, and new rear tires. Burnouts are so much fun.
