Nearly hydrolocked the engine. Need some help to work thru the issues.
04 350z -- I have one of those stupid in bumper cold air intakes and rolled thru what I thought was a puddle. Sucked up water and the engine stopped immediately. I was roughly at idle speeds.
Towed it home and I pulled all the plugs, shot a bunch of water out. Changed all the spark plugs to new and it fired right up. But I did have a misfire. The Bluetooth scan tool I have did not/could not read a misfire. I did feel like the idle was rough and felt like a misfire.
I rechecked all the coil packs and spark plugs. I did a compression check and all were sitting at 150-180. I don't have a leak down tester yet. I do have some oil in the cylinders from what I suspect are leaky valve cover seals. (hopefully not leaking down thru the valves) If I had a bent valve then the compression would be zero there right?
After going thru the compression test and reinstalling everything I cannot get it to fire up anymore. I triple checked everything and got it back to original but to no avail. I'm not sure what I would have done to cause it not to run.
I'm a fairly experienced garage mechanic but new to these cars. I do have a 05 G35 as well that if in a pinch i could pull parts off of, but would rather not since it runs perfect.
Ideas?

Yes, it just turns over and not start. I'll check the oil too.
Unfortunately I just have liability.

It ran for about a min. But had the misfire so I shut it off.
Unfortunatly it won't start now. It smells like it's dumping fuel out the tailpipe. What is the best way to test spark for each coilpack? Also would anything about this situation cause oil to be in the cylinders maybe coating some of the spark plugs. When I pulled them they had oil on the tips and these were fresh plugs.

By flooded im saying flooded with gas in spark plugs not flooded with water in engine.
If you dont like the foot all the way down on accelerator idea you can pull the spark plugs and clean the gas off them and reinstall.
Its a common problem when you turn a car on and dont give it time to get to operating temperature before you shut it off.

That was funny... But I wouldn't be too harsh. Not everyone knows how car forums work. Still, I'm not sure how he got here to post this unrelated problem?
I tried the pedal to the floor trick and still nothing. Pulled the plugs and several are covered in oil again. So I'm guessing a valve cover gasket would be my next step?

No the valve cover thing has nothing to do with it not starting, thats just the crappie design...
If it smells gassy at the exhaust the car is probably really flooded with gas... (this is my guess anyways)
Sometimes you need to crank with foot to floor for a long time 15+ seconds... Sometimes you end up killing the battery it takes so long...
I usually hook up a jump box when im dealing with a flooded engine... Its not pleasant getting them started sometimes, and defiantly not a happy time for the starter.
Might wanna check you tube for some videos on it.

Every time you flick the key it primes. If you're smelling raw fuel at the exhaust it's flooded.

I checked the oil and it looks like milk. So obviously water got into the oil. Does that happen thru the piston rings?
So now what? Is the engine shot?

The engine may not be shot, but your budget will be. The only way to truly evaluate the damage done is to pull the engine and disassemble the top and bottom ends. If that much water has gotten into the internals, you may have damage to the bearings, or even bent a rod. Worse, leaving it alone isn't an option either, as the precisely machined surfaces of the VQ will degrade over time. Best to find a place you can begin disassembly and get to it before the engine is permanently lost.
