Default New Problems

03 Nissan 350z Touring 134k miles (Travel Car)

Just recently came back from overseas, my wife was regularly starting and checking on my car, she only had to jump it off once (due to a power drain issue from my AC, still trying to figure that out..) I come home and it decides that it doesn't want to start. Battery reads 12v while off and 14v when I get it jumped off. The only way it starts is by jumping it off. When I try to turn it over without cables, everything dies out, OR the starter rapidly clicks. (Sometimes) any help is much appreciated. Trouble-shooting and all.

Beyond just a taking a multimeter reading, have you done anything else to check your battery? That's usually the source of most starting problem after long storage. How old is the battery itself?

Agree with dkmura, it sounds like a bad battery. Take it to a place that can do a carbon pile load test if you want to be sure. If it's bad, I recommend you get a Nissan factory replacement from a dealership. They're cheap and they're good. You can get one with higher CCAs than the factory battery with a 72 month warranty for about $100.

Yes battery was bad, it took a while due to the hurricane to get my internet working. But everything was narrowed down to the battery, consistent jumping it made the battery screw up. But the power drain issue which I just found.. is coming from the AC. Pulled the fuse while the car was off and amperage dropped from 1.3 to .26 if I remember correctly. So now the issue is finding out why my AC is pulling power while turned off. Can't find schematics for it. Any suggestions?

When I need a wiring diagram and it's not in the FSM, I get it at http://www.alldatadiy.com/.

Not everything's free on the internet, unfortunately. Good luck trying to nail down that current drain. Honestly, I'd check your A/C grounds first, then check the corresponding harnesses at any friction points. Hopefully, it's not a bad circuit board.
