Default Common battery problems?

03 350z 6 speed
aftermarket deck ( before purchase)
jdm tails ( oem ones)

my my car has been having a battery problem.

the car will start fine and then all of a sudden I'll go out to start it and it's completely dead ( no lights inside or anything) sometimes it's less dead and the lights will come on but it won't start. It does this at random because it can sit for 3-4 days in my garage and it'll start right up but then I can drive it to work and when I leave in the morning ( I work 24 hour shifts ) it'll be dead again. Could it be the alarm system that is doing this ? I noticed the red blinking light is a steady red when driving not sure if that's what's suppose to happen. And also it seems that it only does this when I touch the car with water or it gets rained on outside.

When I put the cables on it starts up almost immediately and it's battery level is reading at 16.

could this be just bad luck with a battery ( purchases battery 4 months ago then it went to a shop to get a front bumper and spoiler put on). But I believe it's not the battery because the reason I changed it in the first place was while I was teaching my wife how to drive a standard she stalled out twice and the battery died. So just to be safe I had changed the battery but now it's still kind of up in the air if it'll start or not.

Thanks for any input

I'd take it to a shop and get the charging system checked, as 16 volts is too high and will damage a new battery, as well as possibly other components on the car.

Apologies for the miss type I meant that the battery sits at right above 13/14 v at idle

OK. Remove, clean, and re-tighten all the battery connections.

And as mentioned, get a load test done. It's clearly in the battery and/or charging system. Takes a shop 5 minutes. My bet is on a bad diode in the alternator. 9 out of 10 times....
