Question Popped the Cams?

Changing out the water pump, doing it myself, and I did not turn the crank all the way, so at one point, both the tensioner side AND the water pump side were both loose. I pushed on one end and it shifted back to being tight. Happened on BOTH sides, different times.

Do you guys think I popped the tooth/cams?
I would like to avoid taking the cover off, but I could always be safe than sorry.

Would like to get some input.

Thanks,

Alex

I guess you are talking about jumping a notch on timing chain??

I'm no gearhead, learning tho, but your title seems a little 'Off'.

good luck

Hah, well played. I watched a video and the guy used the term "pop the cams" so thats what I was playing off of. Sorry.

If anyone else takes a look at this I resolved the nervous issue by taking out the plugs and cranking the motor a few times to see if any valves would hit the pistons. All clear.
