Sorry brother! I needed to be home by the am for a party party!!
You Know!!!
Thank you sir!
Hey bud. I have a pending buyer for the strut. If he falls through. Your next Ill pm you.
Meh to say I like it is an UNDERSTATEMENT!!!!
Story Time
Now I can finally say its DONE!(welllllll.....)
As some have seen there were a few snags with the car. Shes an oldie.(in 350z years ) She had two things that caused some delay. 1st being the injector harness 2nd being the 02 sensors didn't hold up to the amount of air rushing by them. Both items were factory oem never touched by myself. And thats it. The reason for it being so long was as a business owner the boss wouldn't let me off(a$$hole ).
The flight was booked and the trip was made on friday. Started at a nice 3:45 am got up packed and was at the airport by 5. I arrived at Charlotte airport at 10:45am where Kevin from SOHO picked me up. I didn't know how to tell him to step on it and get me to the shop to see her so we just cruised through "uptown" arriving at SOHO around 11:15.
There she was looking all clean purdy with a new pacemaker installed. Meet the Guys of SOHO Nik and George. Which was a blur I just wanted to drive it... Get the keys and start her up and besides start up being a tad throaty she purs like she did with just the exhaust. Looked around the car checked the engine out to admire the clean and tiddy install job.
The time has come for me to feel what for the past 7+ years only dreams would explain. I have been in many a boosted z just not having it behind my right foot. I think at first it was a couple 2nd - 3rd gear pulls. Once hearing the turbo spooling and the wastegate opening to the dump tube. I was hooked!!! Tires Kevin and I then got on the highway to get some miles on her before I took off. We started talked and kept talking. Then Kevin looks over and says "You have the open Highway are you going to open her up?" Thats when I fell in love!!! 3rd to 6th pull and it Pulled hard!!!
After getting back to the shop with a permagrin they showed me around the shop all the Z's and G's getting work done. Nice machines coming from SOHO in the next few weeks!!! We then went for a drive in the SOHO PPW ST car. Showing the difference. There is a difference on how the cars pull from Momentum and SOHO's kit. Both similar but different in there own way
When arriving back at the Shop the guys hooked me up with all the SOHO gear they could(which is very comfy ) Then it was time to pay for my extras This was the worst part of the trip hahaha It always is. After everything is paid its time for me to hit the road for a brisk 13 hr drive how to Naples. The second bad thing happened within 2-3ft of where the car was parked. There is a hump at SOHO that you need to know how to take or you will scrap. Hug the gate head towards the Red truck and cut. Hug the gate no Hit the Gate. Yea yea my dumbass hits the gate with the rim. Pics to follow. Now I am off and heading home. Missed my very first exit, almost stayed for the ACC championship game GO CANES...wait
After getting on the highway and doing as many pulls as I can I was off finally. 277 to 77 to I95 to 10 to 75 HOME!!! I was driving for about an hour when I noticed the Gas gauge wasn't going below a half of a tank. Stopped for gas and some healthy snacks. She was pretty lo I had put 16.9 g in her. Then looking at the car the SES light pops on and the Fuel gauge is at a full take and the DTE is reading 630 and rising. I checked the codes and it seams to be a short of sorts. Ill post the codes I retrieved.
Now my trip just was cut to 250 mile intervals which was just about the time my bony as$ was ready for a break!! Stopped only for Gas and Sissy breaks. Once to eat at Sonny's bbq and two cups of Mud or Coffee is what they called it...
As I was getting on the 10 west in FL. A GTO must have missed the FMIC which is tucked nicely behind the V3 bumper... He cuts off some traffic and goes. I casually stoll next to him sitting in 4th gear I hear his exhaust tone change then so does mine. Once i shifted into 5th it was over. He pulls up and says in your best redneck voice " Whatinthe Hell you gots done!" My reply "Just a single turbo". I wanted to say something "smart" but he was nice didn't do a flyby. Then I left him with a little more "chin music" another 4th gear pull.
The toughest part was when the sign was reading 50 miles to Naples this was also around 2am. For those counting about 22-23 hours I drove the entire way with the windows down the 2chainz blasting then the occasional highway pull Then 20 then 10.(its true those last miles are the longest) No a sole on the road just me and my Z. I pulled in the complex at a cool 2:45 am. My fiance was snugging on the couch with our cats wondering where is Dad at??? When arriving home I was tempted to pull an all nighter but once I hit the sack I was out for the count. DONE!!! I got
This is my second drive from the same area with the Z(when I repurchased and then post turbo). The guys at SOHO know when the next time will be... I must the second time beat the first by a "Slim" margin
I can't say thank you enough for SOHO motorsports! They are a top notch group of guys. Young but know what they are doing! My car Drove like an oem Z from 750+ miles away. With the small hiccup of the gas gauge. The only other thing is they Didn't tell me that I would be driving at a fast rate, down shifting and wanting to get off the exits to do the Onramp test!!!
In the end I am extremely happy with the outcome! The shop that did the work! and The drive! Nik and the crew are very up front stand up guys! Can't say enough!! Well I just wish they were closer!
After being home and waking up at 9am the next day I figured well lets go for a ride. I put another 100-150 miles on her the next day(or technically the same day).
She is a blast to drive and can't wait to take her out tonight
Thanks for those who have read and suggested different things. Thanks to all who offered to help with the injector harness problem. I really appreciate it!!!
Miles before trip 79,050 Today 79,985. AND I HATE DRIVING!!
Now for some pictures:
DYNO: I am saying 374/374 which is a stretch so nana a booboo Thoughts on numbers...
New Arc bar and a snail
Pacemaker:
Does not apply:
Tial W/G open dump:
Greddy Multi D/A gauge Boost, Oil pressure, Oil temp, egt, water temp, fuel pressure in One!!! I will be getting the fuel pressure.
My only concern is the IC pipe is resting on the radiator hose. Should I be concerned? There is a little pressure on the rad hose? could I turn the rad hose down so the loop is at the bottom??
You Know!!!
Thank you sir!

Congrats, btw, hopefully you don't get greedy and want more power w/ the stock block; it's just never the same when you start building engines...

Chris you should be fine with that IC piping being there on the hose. It really doesn't move that much even under heavy pulls so it won't rub a hole or anything into it. That rad hose is pretty strong. Mine used to rest a little on top of it but I was able to twist it up a bit since mine is 2 piece piping.
Btw awesome numbers at such low boost. That turbo is super efficient and you'll no issues with higher boost later if you build it. That power and torque curve is nice and smooth
Welcome to the boosted life homie!
