SharX59's Build Thread
Hey guys! I've been around the site for a while now and I've enjoyed my z for a little more than five years now. I'll tell you guys I have enjoyed every day that I have owned her since my junior year of high school. Not a day has gone by that as I walk down to my parking garage and see her lurking in the corner that I don't have a smile on my face. She has surprised myself and others by her performance countless times and has saved my life a handful of times. It is safe to say I will be keeping her for a long time to come. If you guys are up to it, I want to share the experiences with my car and her fast, or more likely slow progression into a street/track car.
ENJOY!!
ENJOY!!

Day 1: I bought from a previous owner who apparently died in the car from a heart-attack at 1,520 miles in the summer of '08. it belonged to a couple of high-school sweethearts who were each other's first loves. After being so distrot at the memories the car brought up, the deceased man's wife couldnt bare to look at the car. AS a result, I got it for a steal. Before I took the car, she started to breakdown and I comforted her and promised I would do my best to take care of the car.
Look at that unmolested goodness!!

Up bright and early for my first track event back in '09 at Big willow.
Arrived at the last Chevron station until Willow.
Others who are joining in the fun. Stiff competition...
Had a lot of fun, bought I had a LOT of room to improve.
Then 5 months later I couldn't take it so I had to go back to the track, but this time I went to streets of willow.
Here is a vid of my noob self at the track.

Then tragedy.....a couple days after my track day...on a rainy night, a homless man in the middle of the night decided he should walk into oncoming traffic...and I ended up a little underneath a SUV who slammed his brakes hard to avoided hitting the man (he was nowhere to be seen after our collision). Safe to say it was my fault, I was a little to close for those rainy conditions.
Looks worse than it really is, but that is about $5,000 in damages.
Time for some exterior mods .

Yup OEM suspension, unfortunately due to my buildings Mt.Everest styled driveway, I wont be able to get in. As is I scrape the V2. For this reason I'll have to wait on my KW V3 coils until I move.
Well the RS3 tires were bald almost, and with the fact that my car is a daily and that rainy season was coming to California, I need a all around performer. Believe me, I've driven with RS3 tires with no tread left in the rain....nooo fun. But, they are one heck of a track tire.
The next time I go back to the track depends on my modification status. I've driven the car in OEM state too long. Once I get my Agency power, Motordyne ART pipes, AAM y-pipe, and Injen Dual intakes then I will be headed back. More than likely February or march of next year.....then again sometimes I just say screw it and head up to the track haha.

oh and as for the HPS pads, I haven't been to the track yet with them. But in-order to test out my new brake setup I have canyoned with them. I must say they did better than expected...however, because of the almost nonstop braking I did through one canyon, they heated up quickly. For track performance they do not compare to the HP+ pads...I could stop on a dime with those babies!! For everyday street they are perfect, low dust and no noise. The HP+ pads would make my silver enkie wheels into bronze wheels in 2 days and the screeched all the time. The noise bothered everyone but me because in my mind "because race car B]"
