Rampage / Evans out... Machida vs Evans scheduled for May bout

UFC President Dana White confirmed Wednesday that Lyoto Machida, not Quinton Jackson, will challenge champion Rashad Evans for the light heavyweight title at UFC 98 on May 23.
In an interview with Yahoo Sports, White said Jackson needs jaw surgery and would not be ready for UFC 98.
The Jackson-Evans matchup, which was hyped Saturday following Jackson’s win over Keith Jardine at UFC 96, was intended to replace the Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir main event that was postponed after Mir’s knee surgery.
Evans told Sherdog.com on Monday that he had a “feeling” that Jackson would not be able to fight. In Machida, he faces an opponent who, like himself, is undefeated.
“The kid’s been phenomenal,” Evans said of Machida. “He’s been better than phenomenal. He’s been looking better every fight. But that’s the fight business. That’s the fun part about a fight is the fact that you go in there with an opponent that sometimes seems insurmountable. But then you figure it out and that makes the victory that much sweeter. With that said, there may be some kinks in his armor that I have yet to see that I can exploit when I look at the tapes more closely. Nobody’s unbeatable. Machida’s been looking slicker than I don’t know what, but everybody has a weakness even if you do look slick as oil. Everyone has a weakness.”
Interesting...
I got money on LYOOOTOOOO THE DRAGONNN MACHIIIIDAAAHHH~~
I have a feeling Lyoto will gas around end of 4th, and drop the 5th... but since Rashad is typically a slow starter I see him doing enough to win. I hope Rashad gets caught with one of Lyoto's left counters but I think he's too tentative for that.
nice... I was hoping that Evans would fight Machida instead of Rampage so that he could knock him the f*** out!!! I can't stand Machida, he's good but I don't like his fighting style, he gets the wins but is not someone that myself and people in general want to see win. Evans has much better stand up and will find a way to win.

well this blows. i already have tickets to this event. i was looking forward to rampage and evans. now the main event, is 2 guys i cant stand. the prelims better be good, for 600$ a ticket.
Machida will pick him apart slowly like he does to everyone else...I hope.
At first I didn't like him, he was too elusive and kinda boring, but lately he is being a bit more interesting to watch. I can't stand Rashad, I hope Machida takes his belt.
i pray machida wins. i didnt like him at first because i didnt like his style, especially after watching him against tito, but ive grown to appreciate what he does. hes an Excellent counter striker and loves to have his opponents chase him and hes very good at avoidance and defending strikes. i hope he does to evans what he did to thiago.

I wish there was a way they could both lose. Maybe a double KO would be nice
hahaha you fcukin read my mind. we were actually talking at work. and we were saying, it would be cool, if a plane freakishly crashed through the roof, and into the middle of the ring, when they were touching gloves.
Rashad Evans is sly, Machita won't be able to hit him. BTW, did you guys see Rashad and Rampage trash talking at the end of Rampage's last fight? WooT! LOL, Rampage said there was gonna be some black on black crime, too bad he would have been the victim. I like Evans' style, I don't think anyone can beat him.
