THQ have announced that the demo for UFC 2009 Undisputed has gone up on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.
We previously reported that the demo was coming today, and we're now happy to relate that it's arrived.
The demo features two fighters - Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell, and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua - who fight it out in a three-round contest, refereed by Mario Yamasaki, in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The demo will also include part of the game's tutorial, to get you acquainted with the mechanics of punching other people in the face, and supports either one or two players.
The full version of UFC 2009 Undisputed, due out on 19 May, will feature over 80 fighters across all five weight classes, and has a full Create-A-Fighter system.
Thank god. I'm not hoping for a fully blown career mode, but Create-A-Fighter will hopefully allow me to create Fedor lol.
but Create-A-Fighter will hopefully allow me to create Fedor lol.
Fedor is a hidden fighter that can be 'unlocked' for game play, but only if you pay $2 million per fight, build a stadium in the Soviet Union, and let him compete in Sambo tournaments.
It's next to impossible to submit these two guys though... I mean I guess Chuck has good sub defense but in like 50 fights I've only submitted Chuck once with an armbar... maybe my right stick rotation skills suck or something... or maybe these two guys sub defense is set too high.
Did anyone notice you can throw feints by hitting the block button immediately after throwing a punch? Nice little detail there.
I can only hope they ramp up some of the effects of continued strikes to a particular area. I tried to chop down Liddell by constantly kicking his leg and it didn't seem to affect him much and yet a few Muay Thai knees to the face by Shogun was almost a guaranteed KO.
shogun flying knee TKO's all day... this game is awesome, I have yet to get bored even with only two fighters to choose from. yeah sub's are difficult to get off but KO's are sweet and ground n pound KO's are fun as hell too.

expert is so hard, i can stand and pepper the **** out chuck for 3 rounds then the last 2 minutes he throws some wild superman and ko's my ass i'm like 10 wins out of 100 lost fights on expert hah but i'm still not sick of playing after hours of abusing my controllers with submission attempts
they did a really good job matching the fighters styles to the game
worked my way up to advanced and beat the sh!t out of Liddell 8 out of 10 times but his still catches me with his damn super man punch and spinning back fist, those are his only two moves, so repetitive!!! Expert is too damn hard and takes the fun out of it, I'll stick to advanced and can't wait for the full game to do some serious a$$ kickin...

+1 on expert.
Advanced seem just... right. I haven't won or lost the same way twice ever since I moved up to Advanced. One time, I got Chuck in mount hammering at him, he reversed me and TKO'd me in my guard lol.
I can win by fighting a perfect fight but if i slip up a little bit Chuck KO's the hell out of me. He plays like the real guy too. Can't take him down, and if you do, he just kicks you off and stands up.
game finally comes out tomorrow... can't wait to get my hands on it!

I don't think I'll ever get tired of knocking Arlovski out cold with it.
I created a Kid Yamamoto character although to get his striking/wrestling where it needs to be, i'd had to cut a lot of corners everywhere else. Plus I find the TD defense stat a bit hard to put points in when all the other guy has to do is time a TD or a low block to get a TD
