BLAH!!!! I'd love to see what they would do in a ring with a MMA fighter. All that **** look to set up. When that guy was fighting multiple opponents they were attacking him super weak and with some lame ass blows.

Not impressed either. All of it very set up. The only thing you can come away with from that video, is that 3 people can easily swarm you and take you down.
4 man randori is pretty much standard fare in Genbukan. Nothing held back either. The problem with what I saw of their randori is when you hold back, you cheat the student. They don't learn the necessary mindset (called Mushin) necessary to defend themselves. When its controlled, they don't fear for their lives. I've suffered bloodied lips and noses from randori sessions. Those lessons saved my life when it came down to an actual 4 on 1 situation.
nice practice i guess... however why not throw on some elbow and knee pads, some shin guards and mma gloves and go for the real thing. not with the weapons of coarse but you know they were holding back
as far as you starting at a "dojo" what are you going for? as far as what martial art and whats your main objective. also a bit of advice, make sure and do a ton of research on the place your going, even give us the name and i can do some research on it. i know way to many people who just throw there money away

+1 Some martial arts are strictly for the ring. Its more for the competitive side of things. Some are more useful on the streets than others. If you want to defend yourself, look for that specifically. Same with doing ring stuff. Also, do give us a few dojo names once you come up with a few. The Martial Arts world is even smaller than the Z world. Finding a dojo thats genuine and not some ASK bastardization buy-your-black-belt-in-9-mos kind of place is fairly easy to find out to those in the know.

Im aiming to be able to defend my self, and want a real world type of martial arts. I have been the target of many attempts to get "jumped" and want to be able to kick some ass. I was jumped a few months back by 8 guys, and it wasnt pleasant. Ive always been the lanky guy in high school but now I have put on wieght through wieght training. I want to be able to utilize my strength and not just look the part.
Hmmm reading the lineage makes me a bit skeptical, but I'm a bit of a koryu snob. Let me ask around.
Its funny you put it that way. I was the lanky guy that always got in fights and surprised my attackers with my martial arts knowledge. I started weight training because I didn't look the part and was tired of fighting. I'm thankful for knowing that I can defend myself and my family if I ever have to, but I wish I did it your way. I wish I had just been muscular throughout my teens and 20s so I could have avoided some of the fights I got in.
Rough sparring. you planning on getting in the ring or do you just want to learn to fight?
hey bro thanks for replying,
I plan on getting in the ring, the only problem is that I have braces, i dont know how much that will play along with it.
how serious can you take a 21 year old with braces lol haha
but on a serious note, im tired of being pushed around by punks that pick on the weak, its time for revenge. just to give you guys an idea of how small i was I wieghed 105 graduating high school. Now im about 185 and super ripped.
time to punish those that pick on the weak and fcukd with me for soo long.
im going to the kajukenbo dojo 2maro, I will let you guys know how it turns out...

first of all, how the hell did you manage to pack on 80lbs in 3 years roughly of "pure muscle" assuming your "ripped"?
second, your wanting to fight for all the wrong reasons. at my mma academy (duke roufus) if you get into fights outside the gym, and they find out, your suspended for x amount of time.
you should want to learn as a means to defend yourself, not as a way to get revenge. be a man, and learn to walk away from all that ********. lets say you go kick this guys ass, and his 7 otyher friends come, kick the **** outta you, break your possessions, damage property, etc. then you go back and do the same, and vice versa, you get the idea. your wanting it for the wrong reasons.
and lanky, ripped at 185? im 6'0 185, i must be a monster then.
