Was hoping Silva would win too. He had Franklin in trouble in the 2nd be he didnt quite have the killer instinct to finish. Reading him being faster and more aggressive against Jardine.
Very disappointed in both Kongo and Cain. Cheick 'Houston Alexander' Kongo needs to work on his ground game badly. He wasnt even trying to stop Cain from passing or mounting. But Cain not being able to finish was just as bad. He had side control, mount, his back and anything else he want for pretty much the whole fight but was unable to put him away. I have no clue why he kept on cranking Kongo's face but never went for the choke.
Al-Turk did look a little intimidated but Mirko wasnt doing anything to suggest that he is a contender and won on a eye poke. Disappointed in that too.

kongo got owned and shown exactly why he will never make it in UFC.
i was very impressed by cain.
ya kongo is just borderline above, being in a class with the K-1 freakshows. just really big, but not a lot of skill. kongo has alright stand up, but his ground game is non existant, he is slow as molasses, and his cardio sucks. but he is really hard to fight, just due to his sheer size. its actually really surprising, that he is only 230lbs. cause he is massive.

Yea, me and a bunch of guys were watching that fight. Kongo hit Cain only four times really. 2 punches in the 1st round, 1 in the second, and 1 in the 3rd. Dude was rocked and basically had to take him down to recover. Just an overall disappointing fight.
I thought the card had potential, but overall the fights werent exciting, no straight KO's c'mon!
I thought Rich could have pushed the pace more, but he seemed happy just not getting KO'd and finishing. Congo was exposed, Mirko looks so blah when he fights now, nothing like his old self.
Mirko still fights like everyone's afraid of him. But they're not... and he's slower and less agressive now.
Wandy/Franklin fight was fun to watch. Too bad Wanderlei didn't defend that last takedown, might have eked a split decision.
Cain impressed me with his chin, but not so much with his striking. I'm not even all that worried about the not-finishing thing... fighters tend to learn what the refs look for and it comes with time. I'm worried about his defense... he got clocked everytime Kongo threw something.
Meh card. Looking forward to the next one:
