I'm hoping BJ wins. Not a big fan of Kenflo but I'm sure it's not going to be a one sided fight...
bj has not impressed me in a long time and kenflo just keeps plowing through his opponents. if bj doesnt get his cardio up he's going to lose this one.

Bad match up for Amir coming off the long layoff. I predict Hendricks to take him down at will and grind out a win. Hendricks just needs to avoid those tricky armbars Amir pulls off.
I really hope Florian wins. I F#cking HATE BJ Penn. He's such a D-bag. I also hope Forrest Griffin beats Silva. I'm so sick of seeing Silva win and he's such a b!tch. Everytime he wins he does that gay a$$ dance of his! God I hate him!

I agree with you on his cardio. That's pretty much a make/break situation. If it goes past 3 then I think Kenflo will win.

I want Griffin to win too but I got a hunch Silva's going to bring it this time. I was pissed about his last 2 fights where he just danced around and won by default but I think Forrest will push him enough to give 100%

I don't think we'll ever see the really quick BJ again, which makes this fight closer than it should. Maybe it's age or loss of explosiveness, but he's not the same guy who took Gomi down with ease (in Rumble). His reaction time is still there and his hand speed is better imo, but we haven't really seen him wrestle anyone down since the Pulver fight (which in retrospect doesn't really count for much).
I think BJ finishes him if he can take him down or get top position at any point in the fight (from strikes/scramble/whatever). If Kenny shows too much respect, it'll be a quick night.
BJ better check those leg kicks though. If he lets Kenny tee off on them it's going to be pretty hard to box the way he does.
It's not a stacked card but it has some decent fights. I think this is more like UFC 100.5 setting up for the main card on 8/29 (which I got tickets for my b-day ) Nog and Couture... I live about 5 minutes away from Team Quest and it's amazing to see those guys train...

ya im cheering for griffin. but i think its innevitable that silva is going to win that fight. my take on silva, is that he is bored. so if he has no competition in front of him, he doesnt exert himself. but griffin is going to push the pace, garunteed, which will force silva to actually fight at his skill level. but unfortunately, i dont see griffin making it out of the 2nd round. his defense is terrible in standup. he just walks into punches, and relies on the fact that he can usually hit harder than his opponent, and he has a strong chin. with silva, you cant really afford to just walk into punches though. silva will just pick his punches, and KO griffin in no time.

You can't really blame Silva's last fight all on him... every time he got near Leites, he broke out the butt scoot... and Silva didn't want to play grappling match... maybe if that had been Pride rules and soccer kicks were legal we could have seen an end to that fight... but Leites had a definite fight plan and Silva didn't want any part in that... he can't make the guy stand and fight with him.
But Forrest will throw... so I am sure either Forrest will outwork Silva or Silva will use his pinpoint accuracy to remind everyone how he was able to win 7 straight fights and be considered by many as the best pound for pound fighter in the world.
if i was BJ id be more worried about the fight being stopped due to a cut. kenflos elbows are fcuking lethal.
Which reminds me, when's the last time BJ Penn got cut? He got knotted up good in the GSP fight, but I don't remember a cut. He's not really cut prone so unless he gets put on his back (by Kenflo? I don't think so) he'll be okay from some GnP elbows.
Kenflo does have razorblades for elbows. I'm pretty sure he sharpens them lol.

BJ isnt really prone to any type of damage it seems. after all his fights, he barely looks like he was in a fight at all.
