anybody ever watch HDnet fights? man everytime this little biotch fights, he never wants to go Toe to toe. i mean i can understand taping someone out a few times, but all he does is shoot in and avoid punching, hes got a jaw made of glass. i would knock this dude out clean if i had a chance, maybe his grappling would be better, but i would for sure take him out. hes lucky eddie alvarez didnt get a chance to F uck him up, i woulda loved to see that blood bath. they way he got TKOed for the lightweight championship was pathetic, my daughter coulda hit him that hard, then he started crying...HAHA and those gay pants he wears...pisses me off....
so you are saying that because he does what he's good at and doesn't do something that could cost him the fight, he is a pussy? i'm not sure if he has a glass jaw or not, but if he did, then what sense would it make for him to expose it?
sure mma is entertaining, but it is a sport first and entertainment second. this not pro wrestling or a movie. aoki's job is not to entertain you, but to defeat any opponent who stands in front of him any way that he can within the rules of mma.

I personally think most fans now a days are more into the stand up portion of MMA as it is much easier to understand. One guy gets knocked out, and you can clearly see how it happened, and the full extent of the damage upfront.
A good example would be the George Sotiropoulos fight in UFC 101. That fight was an amazing display of bjj. I mean his transitions, passing etc were all superb. Now it doesn't look flashy or anything so it doesn't warrant special attention.
Regardless, to each his own.
On the topic of Aoki being a pussy? I beg to differ. He has fought countless great lightweights and won. He isn't a striker at all, well he is training more stand up now, as you saw in his fight with Shaolin. He isn't a power puncher, but he will pepper people with fast jabs, then land the submission. Much more technical than your average striker who throws punches hoping something will land or be knocked out themselves.

that is his fighting "style." it's the same thing when people saw machida fight tito. they were saying that machida was "running" from tito. he was just fighting smart and fighting his "style." everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses and aoki's strength is his ground game so it would be stupid for him to go "toe to toe" as you call it. this is mma, not boxing. besides, he's the one in the ring doing the actual fighting and you're calling him a pussy from the comfort of your living room.
It's all about fighting style and what works.. standup is a dangerous game for even the best strikers... all it takes is one good shot and it can be over in the blink of an eye...
I know when I fight I could give two shits what anyone watching wants to see. I do what works, regardless of how ugly or boring it may seem.

well it was kinda a rant, and if you have seen most of his fights (aoki) when he gets hit no matter what he goes down, not saying that anyone who uses primarily submissions is a pussy, just that most fighters if they have to swing, then will, unlike them, aoki will always shoot no matter what...but i guess ROAST your right, it really doesnt matter what everyone watching thinks, as long as its a win i guess
