Going to start this earlier this time so other people can get their picks in and so there will actually be some pre fight talk.
I think Machida will take it pretty easily.
Cain looked like crap against Kongo and was walking straight into punches. Going with Big Ben to pull an upset over the overated Cain.

Hope Shogun pulls the upset... so we can see a Rampage / Shogun II fight but that's not going to happen. Machida by points.

Maybe I'm just excited because I have been overworked lately and watching the fight with my friends gives me a chance to relax. Just hoping for some entertaining fights.

nope, me either. No clue who these guys are and no desire to figure it out.
That being said, the kids today will look back and call it their "boxing". They will have memorable "heroes" from this clustereff. But I'm too old to get excited over street fighting trying to become a mainstream sport.
It's fun though. I listened to Dana White on Rome today and I always get a kick out of him. But he was incensed that the Simpsons writers made fun of MMA. Dood, it's the Simpsons, they make fun of everything.
So NO...I am NOT excited about this nonsense that I won't watch and consider to be a more violent version of WWF.

Come on guys. A lot of people think Machida will have the belt for a long time. If true this is the beginning of a legacy. Shogun was ranked #1 LHW not too long ago. Since coming to the UFC his performances have been lackluster but he seems to be returning to his old roots with every fight. I'm definitely interesting in how this one turns out. The other fights dont have much star power but I watch all the fights regardless. Sometimes the unknown fighters have the best finishes.
@idwin, Stevenson has fought better opponents. I dont even remember the last few people fisher fought.

The eye poke still makes me cringe. What a horrible call that was too. They should have gave AJ step up in competition, Lytle or KOS maybe. If he strings together 3 more wins I can see him getting a title shot.

AJ came in 6lbs over. Reminds me of Alves and Hughes but I dont even think it was 6lbs and Alves looked like he was in a different weight class.

as long as fisher can stuff the take downs, he will pick apart stevenson in the stand up. if it goes to the ground, stevenson will take it. so its anybodies fight in my eyes.
in general this is another flop of a card, for the ufc. its never good, when the prelim card is more exciting than the main card. especially when the prelims are free on spike before the PPV starts.
ill buy the PPV just to see if Rua can pull an upset, and kill Machida. that would make my night. but i aint holding my breath. i see Rua gassing hard in the 3rd, and getting TKO'd.
id put my money on Neer vs Tibau being fight of the night.
that will be KO of the night.
