Since Karo Parisyan backed out of the fight against Dustin Hazelett on the UFC 106 card scheduled for tomorrow, UFC president Dana White moved the undercard bout of Paulo Thiago vs. Jacob "Christmas" Volkman up on the main card.
White posted several messages on Twitter yesterday, announcing that Parisyan 'had a whole laundry list of excuses' for his short notice which he needed to explain to the press himself. White also stated that Hazelett would receive the fight purse for showing up and winning regardless since it was not his fault that he would not be able to fight.
I was really looking forward to that fight too.
Lots of disappointment yesterday.
Koscheck vs Johnson - knee to down opponent, accident eye pokes, *intentional eye pokes, fight almost got stopped because of the doctor, Koscheck was holding the opposite eye that got swiped, Koscheck calling out that he is number one contender at the end. Didnt know what to make of the fight.
Karo Parisyan vs Dustin Hazelet - fight gets canceled
Tito Ortiz vs Forrest Griffin - Another controversial split decision with no decisive winner. The judges were all over the place, 30-27? Tito literally didnt throw one punch in the whole third round. Then he blames him performance on his injuries(said he was fighting with a cracked skull )
Still some exciting fights though. @ Davis getting brutally KOed.

nope, but the judges gave it to him anyway. so now we have an intentional set up, to get a 3rd tie breaker fight between tito and forrest. mma has officially become boxing.
on the positive side though, you might start seeing more KO's. since the judges are either incompetent, or cant decide what criteria they choose, for picking a winner. the fighters will start to realize, you need a KO or a sub, to garuntee a win. because as of late, even if you out score an opponent, it doesnt garuntee you a win by any means.
i heard this at the end, and was like "wtf?" i was cheering for forrest. but i dont think he did quite enough to win the fight. it couldve easily been called a tie. but the first 2 rounds, do lean slightly in titos favour. if it was a 5 round fight, there would be no doubt that forrest would have won an easy decision. tito had nothing left after the 2nd round.
Hmm I had Forrest winning the fight. I was surprised I heard it was a split decision though. So was the whole bar I was at. I don't think this was intentionally set up to make a Tito vs Griffin 3. It would make sense with 2 top contenders, not with 2 fighters who are both coming off a loss and one coming back from a 18 month rest period.
So is Karo out? I use to like watching him back in the day but hes kinda been acting like a ***** if you ask me.

well both those fighters, put asses in seats. and that all the organization cares about. money money money.
but in more likeliness, it just the randomness of the judging we have been seeing. they either need to change the 10 point scoring system. or put these judges through a clinic, to tell them exactly what they are basing their scores on. cause when you get 2 judges with 29-28 for each competitor, and then another one who is 30-27 for one competitor. its quite clear, that they are all basing their scoring on completely different points.
Tito in the first & second round was fun to watch. It was like a blast from the past... i mean they even had Baroni on this card.
Unfortunately Tito's gas tank isn't what it used to be and his striking is still as bland and robotic as ever. Now all we need is for them to bring back the ramp for intros, do a Matt Hughes vs. Twinkle Toes rematch and a BJ Penn vs. Caol Uno rematch and the UFC throwback card could be complete!
