**Keith Jardine says he's fighting Brandon Vera at UFC 89**

http://mmajunkie.com/news/4872/keith...-at-ufc-89.mma

Keith Jardine (13-4-1 MMA, 5-3 UFC) will look to rebound from his recent loss to Wanderlei Silva when he meets Brandon Vera (9-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) at UFC 89, an event that takes place Oct. 18 at The NIA in Birmingham, England.

Jardine today announced the fight on an Albuquerque radio show.

The light heavyweight bout will likely end up on the night's main card, which currently features a headline bout between Michael Bisping and Chris Leben.

However, the UFC has yet to announce the fight.

i'm picking vera via tko in this fight.

I'm pretty unimpressed with Vera at the current time. At UFN 14, it was the worst fight of the night.

But he should beat Jardine. If he gets KO'd, he's pretty screwed.

2 losses then a very pathetic victory, I think he is skating on thin ice as it is. He better hope he pulls an exciting victory and start winning his fans back.

I really like Vera but I agree, he basically tried to just counter everything with his last fight, he never pressed the fight for even a second. Very lackluster performance, he'll get beat for sure if he uses that strategy against Jardine.

Why does it always seem like the UFC sets Jardine up to lose?

Vera looked like crap that last fight though. He better bring his A game or he could be fighting Kimbo next.

You could think of it that Jardine likes to fight top competition.

He did beat Chuck Liddell. And Forrest Griffin. Two of the top 15 P4P fighters alive (yahoo rankings)

Vera hopefully makes the cut a lot better this time and probably should start losing weight while training so he only cuts a few pounds pre-fight.

Vera has a lot more tools at his disposal in this fight, but Jardine has a hell of a heart and always stands a punchers chance. The problem is the Vera can keep it at range or get extremely close and control him in the clinch, and if it goes to the ground there really is very little hope for Jardine.

^^^ agreed Vera cut to much weight to fast and came out really flat he didnt even look healthy in his last fight...but i think he didnt want to chance losing 3 in a row and played it safe just to get back on the win side...but the fight WAS AWFUL to watch!!!

Jardine is the new Elvis Sinosic.

Is your highly paid star underperforming? Does your poster boy need a highlight reel? Does your up and comer need someone to justify their title shot?

Put Keith Jardine in. If he gets KO'd... it's going to look spectacular.

Next for Keith Jardine:

Vera
Shogun
Rampage
Loser Silva/Machida

Elvis doesn't have the wins against high quality opponents that Jardine does. But he takes a beating like no other. The Gatti of MMA.

I think i got Jardine in this one.. As much as non Jardine fan as i am i think he comes and brings it. Brandon on the other hand hasn't been looking that great in his last three fights.. three fights. not one not two but three of his last..

tim got knocked down by randy in the first 4 seconds, a recent 205'er that couldnt ko chuck out in his last 205 fights like he did in the first
tim hasnt even had a knock out for 2 yearss

but who put chuck to sleep and forest the champ

unless vera comes swinging guns and looking for a knock out, which he hasnt had like tim for 2 years now

So you are trying to say that Jardine is a more powerful striker than Tim Sylvia?
