**Belfort Vs. Lindland In Affliction 2**

http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/...6802&zoneid=13

According to Affliction middleweight, Vitor Belfort, in an interview with Tatame.com he confirms that he will face Matt Lindland in a 185lb title fight at the next show for the promotion on Oct. 11 that is currently rumored to take place in Las Vegas.

Belfort suffered a broken hand in his last fight for Affliction against Terry Martin, but the former Ultimate Fighting Championship title holder doesn’t believe the injury will be a problem.

“The doctor will analyze it, but I may stay four weeks out,” Belfort said in the interview. “I’ll come back in October 11th to fight Matt Lindland for the belt”

The Brazilian looked very impressive during his fight with Martin and many fans and critics had speculated that a fight between Belfort and Lindland could happen at a future Affliction event.

For his part, Lindland, after being out for over a year, came back to defeat Fabio Negao at the same Affliction show. The Oregon native has been busy focusing on his fight career while also making a run for a seat in his home state’s house of representatives.

Rumors have been swirling ever since the first Affliction show as to who might appear on the 2nd show. Pedro Rizzo has already mentioned his return on the Oct. 11 show and everyone from Fedor Emelianenko to Tito Ortiz has been rumored for the card as well.

Messages to Matt Lindland from MMAWeekly.com were not immediately returned for comment on the fight.

wow, if this is true, it's looks like affliction will have another really good card. i'm picking the phenom by tko 3rd round.

I didn't see his fight against Martin so I don't know how impressive he looked. Hopefully it will be a good fight.

Vitor is one of the best 185'ers around training in vegas with xtreme couture, he looks alot different from when he was the ufc champ, i was like woah

i'm not impressed with lindland's fighting , lindland has maybe a chance on the ground but if you know anything about vitors ground game then you would understand he probably will submit matt

Vitor looked like the Vitor of old and I am excited to see him back in the mix.

Hes in better shape , but looked more muscle ripped a couple years ago . I was waiting for him to start throwing his hands more like ole times but hes picking up that elusive fighting style like anderson silva and machida

This is for the "title" ?

WAMMA is going to cornhole themselves as an "Affliction promotion belt" if they keep this bullsh!t up.

Obviously AS is better than both.

Vitor always had the physical skills to be a champ. One of the most disappointing fighters to watch. Put up a little resistance only to see him fold.

That ring looked fricking HUGE though. Haha. That's definitely not the same size as what they're using in Japan.

Hopefully Affliction learns from PRIDE and DREAM... the ref (and other officials outside of the ring) need to keep fighters hands off the rope, and to keep the rope tighter when they're about to tumble out.

And Belfort still got sick hands. Hopefully he does a David Terrell on Lindland... I don't liek that stinky mofo.

He did that with a broken right hand. I believe he was quoted saying he broke his hand in the first round with the first punch he threw. After the end of the first round, his corner asked why he wasn't throwing his combinations, he said his hand was broken. Poor Martin though, he always falls the same way when he gets knocked out lol, this time the ropes were there to break his fall.

I will go with Lindland unless Vitor can land that KO right off the bat it will end up on the ground via a big slam.
