Oscar is bigger and stronger plus he used to fight at 147ish when he was in his prime. Oscar has fought at 160ish if im not mistaked in his last few fights. Pacman is a light weight moving up to 147. I think Oscar is going to KO pacman and I also think pacman is not going to be as fast at 147.

there are too many disadvantages/advantages for both boxers meeting at that weight class...

my take on this is.. oscar must knock out manny in order to win... it will be hard for manny to knock out oscar with a strong chin but always a possibility.. so if he lasts 12 rounds he wins by landing more punches...

i like oscar as a boxer not as a person... go pacman!!

De La Hoya Resumes Sparring

By Rob Fernas
August 28, 2003 in print edition D-2

A week after reinjuring his left hand, Oscar De La Hoya said Wednesday he is sparring again and expects to be at full strength for his Sept. 13 super-welterweight title fight against Shane Mosley in the MGM Grand Garden Arena at Las Vegas.

“I guarantee that the hand will be 100%,” De La Hoya said from his training camp at Big Bear, adding that medical tests revealed no serious damage.

De La Hoya said he is throwing his left hand at “full force,” after suspending sparring sessions for three days. He said the time off was a blessing in disguise.

“It helped me rest my body and relax,” he said.

De La Hoya has periodically experienced pain just above his left wrist for several years. He had an operation to remove cartilage from the area after canceling a fight against Roman Karmazin in December 2001.

“Pain or no pain, I have to live with the fact that the wrist will never be the same again,” he said.

Despite his wrist’s vulnerability, De La Hoya said Mosley should expect more than a barrage of right-hand punches.

“He’s definitely going to have to be looking for a lot of combinations,” he said.

More interested in the Pav/BHop fight than watching RJJ though I'll probably be ordering both.

I would have thought that if this fight did happen, it would be at a catch weight of maybe 140 lbs. I'm definately a Pacman fan, and he looked perfect at 135. It's just hard for me to think that Pacman can be as effective at 147 lbs., especially against Oscar. Oscar still has his speed and power, so it will be a real hard fight for Manny. At this point in time, I would have to say that I'm split down the middle on who will win.

lol @ people thinking pacman is going to beat on Oscar. Oscar has taken down Vargas (much bigger and stronger than Manny could ever be), Mayorga and has fought against beasts such as Hopkins, Mosley and has fought against much better talent in the likes of PBF.

Oscar will win this, unless his old age finally catches up to him. Why i'm I not surprised Manny is fighting another old guy?

When has Oscar ever gotten PWNED? He was taken down by a clean shot to the liver by Hopkins a while ago, but other than that the guy has been toe to toe with every fighter he's ever faced.
