Watched a good fight the other night - miguel torres

Somehow I don't think I've seen many of this guys fights even though he is the current WEC bantamweight champ.... I was very impressed with his game. Very well versed in striking and dangerous on the ground. Even when they were tangled up on the ground he was finding some crazy angles to deliver strikes.

The title fight I watched a few nights ago was on VS in HD... (rerun from june) vs Yoshiro Maeda... The doctor stopped the fight in between the 3rd and 4th round because the whole side of yoshis head was swollen. In a way I wanted to see him finish the guy, but had it went any further yoshi would have got hurt a lot worse so it was a good decision to stop the fight.

I would post up a video but I could only find a few very poor quality partial clips on youtube. At any rate, I'm going to keep my eye out for any future fights from this cat. You should too...

You're certainly entitled to your opinion...

Smaller fighters have always had a hard time impressing some "less enlightened" people. For a true MMA fan to call that fight lackluster or not impressive is a bit hard to believe.

The fight was golden.

I only saw Miguel fight once before he faced Chase for the belt and I honestly thought Chase was going to grind it out. He didn't get subbed by Rani so no way was Miguel going to sub him and Chase's wrestling was good enough to negate Miguel's hands. Then Miguel subs Chase. Blew my mind! I don't know if anyone will be beating Miguel anytime soon. He's very good.

LOL the wrong way to spell opponent.. lOL. i was really tired when i typed that.. i hardly remember saying it.

And to fluid, this guy has no where near the technical striking skill of anderson. The only person i've ever seen be able to go toe to toe with anderson was lee "lightning" murray. Now THAT was a good fight... i think if lee was a kick boxer he might have actually won the fight..

Anderson Silva would not have a very good record as a professional boxer.

noob.

no you DID NOT mention striking we were talking about boxing and ppw's saying Miguel Torres is the "A. Silva of the bantamweights" means simply that he's referring to his dominance. And yes, Silva's past OPPONENTS have made it out of round 2

miguel torres is no where near Anderson Silva's level , sure torres has a winning record now but to me, he looks like a cocky/too confident 10 year old but he is better then any other fighter i have currently seen at that weight class in wec,

Torres is most certainly near AS's level. AS has no competition in his weight class, and would have to move up to get a competative fight at this point.

Who's at 135 that can come close to stopping Torres? No one. Hopefully they will hype a Torres v. Faber fight at some point.

You're judging a fighter's ability on his look? lol noob!

AllStock- you f'n troll tool shed. WTF is bewm you illiterate bastard?
