Got my first bike today

This morning I purchased a 2005 Suzuki SV650. This will be my first street bike. It's all stock and has less than 3,000 miles. All in all the bike appeared clean and well taken care of. Sucks waiting for the funds to clear--after that I'll go and pick it up.

I've taken the MSF course and would recommend it to anyone that plans to ride. One question I had for those with experience: is it normal to simply ride it home? I was just wondering since I was hoping to spend some time with it in my complex first. Oh well, I'm lucky in that it's only 3 miles away.

sweet man. great bike. That SV motor is great on gas, and is durable as the day is long.

A lot of people will ride their first bike home from the dealer or seller's residence. Just make sure you are comfortable shifting the bike so that you don't stall in traffic. Good job taking the MSF first.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I figured many probably just rode off; I'll just play it extra safe.

Nice SV! I took delivery of mine yesterday morning too and love it so far.

Sign up for svriders.com and start modding.

You should get motosliders, fender eliminator and tank, gas cap and crown protectors.

I rode mine back from the dealer that is 3 miles away from me also. Feels and rides great.

I paid $4,100. Personally, it was a little higher than I had planned to spend, but from what I had seen it was the best one that was out there.
