V-twin and track-capable goodness! (sorry, another one)

Sorry to add another "I got a bike!" thread but this has been a long time coming and cannot hold my excitement.

Too long since I've been on the saddle and I've missed it since moving to Cali.

So it's not a Duc, RC51 or TL1000R... but similar. Always wanted the v-twin roar and nakedness... and the price was the final straw to the deal.

Here are the photos, they speak for themselves.

I come from a 1996 Ninja 250 and 01 Honda F4i

Plans:
-tank, gas cap and crown protectors
-frame and swing arm sliders
-fender eliminator

Congrats, and nice choice. BTW, I think I may have sat on that very bike just this past week.

Maybe but the dealer had the last 07 blue hidden in their back warehouse and didn't even know it.

They gave you a good price? I couldn't get them to budge on anything. That's the 07, right? $500 below MSRP out the door?

OTD Motorsports $5800 OTD. I got the quote from their website but they didn't honor it at first since it was quoted for the Inglewood location... but they went ahead to give it to me anyways.

I believe they have one 07 red left without abs.

After looking through craigslist and cycletrader, people are asking close to the same amount for 06 with 1-3k miles, so this is a better deal.

Sweet.....2 SV's in one day. They're such great bikes and get GREAT gas mileage too.....most people overlook that advantage.

I was going to buy one but they felt too cramped. I have a long body. So I got a slightly used 06 Kawi Z750S (1400 mi).

Agreed, I am 5'11" with slightly long legs and it know I will have leg stiffness in the first couple of weeks once they build up.

I love the feel of the bike... like the other bikes I had, I feel like i am fully in control of it. It does feel more nimbler than the F4i, like I can throw it around and still be forgiving. Gotta love the low end torque! it's like driving my old diesel mercedes all over again.

Be safe riding all!

I love the SVs. I wish the 650s had the lower fairing like the 1000s, but oh well. I don't really care for the fairing kit that is available for them, though. Looks weird to me.

Both awesome. I like the ride and style of both, Damn I miss the F4i. It's a hard decision, very hard. Go with the F4i first since it'll be cheaper and then upgrade to a SV in the next year or two.

They do:

2008 SV650SF

Or do you mean something like the chin spoiler or belly pan (depending on who you talk to)

I'd put F4i > SV

SV is a great bike, but IMO not an upgrade, just a different kind of bike.

Major plus is they do have SV650 classes at the track. Running in the SV650 class is going to be a lot easier then trying to hang with the 600s.

I am calling a guy about an SVS today. I cant find decent price (around $4000 or less) F4i's with low mileage but SV's are everywhere!

BTW-this is the EXACT bike I had waiting for me at a dealer (I had put $$ down) then they tried to d!ck me in the finance office so I walked away. Damn

I have to agree.....600cc sport bikes have crap for power down low so for me they aren't the best streetbikes. The SV650 is ideal IMHO.

I agree for street use, the SV's torque is nice, but for all out handling, hands down the F4i.

in the end for street use SV1000 FTW =)

Nice choice. It's like my bike's little cousin. Those handle like a dream. Got any plans?
