New track bike

I had been looking for a used 750/600 for a while now. There are some deals on the WERA forums, but most fall through. A friend told me he was selling his old bike so I jumped on it. Paid next to nothing, and I think it will be perfect. The bike as is weighs 395lb's with headlights and mirrors etc. (he used it for mountain trips). I need to get it stripped down of all the street crap left on it. The one thing that sucks is that the upper is cut for headlights. I am going to have to glass them.

I have a Fox shock sprung/valved for me ready to go on it, and it has racetech internals in the forks (as well as all the other rearsets clip-ons graves pipe/airbox etc.). It used to be an R1 at one point in its life. Anyway I figured I would post..no idea why. First trackday is fathers day. Hopefully knock the rust off in one piece.

Fukc glassing it over, duct tape it for track, throw on a damper, remove the mirrors and tuck in the tail junk, will be able to ride in on the street. Nice bike man, someone has taken some time making that a sweet track pipe

Sell the headlight and other street junk on Ebay , and just buy fresh glass.

I am not going to use it for street riding. I would get a nice comfy bike for that, but even then I'm not extremely interested.

Damn good deal. I paid less than half that for this bike, but that is a good deal.

GSXR 1000 would be a nice track bike as well. It figures that deal would be over 1k miles from here. We used to search insurance auction yards for bikes years ago in search of such a deal.

Running on a set of take offs from a previous trackday (a friend dontated). I was in no danger of setting anything resembling a fast pace on Sunday. This is the first time i have been on anything but a twin/motard in 5 years, so a lot of learning to be done.

Jason, is that track in Baton Rouge, or did you have to drive somewhere? I recently moved to BR myself.
