Yeah, my Arai RX only received 3 stars also, have seen a laser helmet, you can trust your bean to one, I'll take my Arai any day. My helmet is actually on the front page

The Shoei X-11 is one of the more popular helmets. Wonder why they didn't test it.

how does my cheap scorpion 700 get 4 stars and the Arai's only get 3 stars? I thought Arai was true baller status

This is a UK test, so a lot of helmets sold in the US won't be listed.

Who cares!

What makes helmets $$$$ is the fit and finish! getting 3 stars is the easy part.

Get a rx7 Arai and a cheaper $200 helmet and you'll see the dif in weight fit, comfort, and wind noise. I have a Soumy and three Arias and they are all dif the best being the rx7. Your head has alot to do with helmets fit , not all heads were meant for lets say a Arai rx7. Ridding with the Soumy is like ridding in back of a pick up truck, and ridding with a Arai is like ridding in a Cadillac with the windows down!

All X-11's arn't created equal.. i have 4 guys i ride with that have X-11's.. they are all medium.. too of them fit perfect all around the group... one the padding is too stiff.. and last one feels tight

Scorpions are made in China for very low cost, but they get really good reviews. I like mine the best of all my helmets, but it's red and black so I don't wear it due to lower visibility. The fabric has a pretty strong smell though which I don't like.

You can get some older designs here for $140 that I still think look much better than average:

It is, but just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's the safest.

I imagine a lot of people are going to be upset (assuming the test criteria and procedures are valid) that their $400+ helmet won't protect their noggin as well as the freebie HJC that we usually get when we buy a new bike.

Just because it feels good doesn't mean it will perform well. However, there is nothing worse than wearing a sh8tty feeling helmet.
