Good friend of mine (dyi01) and myself rode 320 miles on Saturday. Did about 100 miles on Skyline Drive in VA.
Camera angles from both of our bikes, looking through my windscreen and the cam on my front fender really showed the speed well, but was a little buzzy.
On his bike the cam was down low on the side fairing facing front and back.
Both riding well within our limis just fast enough to have fun. Critique's, suggestions, haters welcome...
Cool vid, I had my Aprilia up there a few years ago.....great place to ride. Best thing is you don't really need to go really fast to have fun ther because of all the nice curves.
We werent passing anywhere not allowed and werent really speeding by turn offs, and because of that we were slowed down a ton by retards driving 25mph. Plenty of chances for them to move over most wouldnt. I got soooo tired on a SLOOOOOOW 25mph stretch it sucked.
Good times though, great roads. We even saw a fawking bear off the side of road staring at us lol.
The GP's are awesome but sometimes I wish I had a standard lens instead of wide angle. It distorts images and makes things appear much further than actual. Having one of each would be cool.
My SV REALLY came alive IMO when I did the suspension, and recently did SS lines with a good set of pads, I love it.
I wont be selling the SV! I fawking love the bike, and its pretty maxed with mods for what I do with it. My friend in this video and I are shooting for a September NESBA track day, after that the SV may become a track bike.
Great idea for a track bike, and i will make sure to get both lenses and compare the GP. What bike are you thinking about getting for the street. BTW the SV's are awsome track bikes!!
I know its better suited than my SVS for the track but I wouldnt cry about trashing the SV and parts are wayyy cheaper.
Im not going through with it though, I rode it, I had a pre approval @ 4.45% from my bank, but after doing a lot of research on the forums, I decided against it. Issues with CCT coming loose, dropping valves, weak valvetrain, and more oil consumption than I consider normal is not for me. Especially after having a bike that is so fawking reliable like the SV.
