Like the fread title says. Post pics of your favorite sport standard. (I am sure you all know that a sport standard is a non/minimal fairing superbike, AKA street fighter) Extra points for blacked out stealthy bikes. NO Chrome please.
I have to include a Confederate even though its not really a sport standard. its too cool.
sick! the second pic looks like they just put a seat on the engine lol
i like the two last ones. >
Part of its allure. Pure function over form. slightly dangerous too. Ride it naked and you could get your nutsack caught in the chain, or burnt by the cylinder head!
Speaking of getting bits caught in things, you gotta be alert riding the custom Buell in the second to last pic. Thats crazy supercharger setup. Could get a finger caught in the belt!

actually naked bikes are more form over function, fairings do alot for a bikes performance. a naked bike which tops out around 130, the exact same bike with fairings will do about 150...

Whatever mr. contrary. The point can be argued in either direction. I am aware of the benefit of full fairings. Anyway I was refering to the Confederate fighter. Nothing superfluous.
not really, you can't argue that a naked bike follows the form follows function design. a naked bike is all about the look, thats function follows form. the only thing a naked bike does better than a faired bike is brakes since it carries more wind resistance

Why do you want to argue with me? A naked bikes function is not to go all out top end like a fully faired bike. Hence no extra bits that it doesn't need. Don't try and tell me that a Ducati Monster is form over function. All there is is a frame, tank, seat, handlebars and gauges. It is made to ride. The fact that it has its beautiful guts hanging out is a pleasant side effect, and none of those guts have been designed with aesthetics in mind.
Yep gives me bonerz most definitely. Love the SS brakelines. I don't know why only the the Italians are smart enough to spend the small amount of extra dough on them. A cheap way to get better feel from teh stoppers!
It's not badass or extremely sexy but I love the bike.
Decently fast, great handling, comfortable, and a super reliable engine that I could redline for hours without any problems all while getting 40mpg. Bought used for $5,000 with only 3,000 miles. I can drive it for a few years and still get at least $4,000 for it. That's cheap entertainment.
Too bad everyone says they like naked bikes but they still don't sell very well in the U.S. When I was in Italy a couple of years ago you would see the 919 and 600(hornets over there) every block and I didn't see one Ducati the whole time I was there.
